A lovely little getaway with everything you need in the glamping tent if you didn't want to move far. Very modern with little extras such as wine and cheese platter, robes, bubble bath, beautiful soaps made it a really lovely weekend away. Close to Yungaburra but the property itself is nice and quiet and very private. The hosts were lovely and very easy to communicate with. Would definitely recommend and we hope to be back again.

Retreat is the right word for this tranquil escape. The attention to detail throughout the carriage accommodation and property was evident with many thoughtful touches. The Ghan carriage was expertly furnished with lots of thoughtful inclusions such as fresh roses, luxury robes, indulgent toiletries and local delicacies. Our host Janet and her daughter Brooke have a beautiful property perfectly positioned to capture views to Lake Tinaroos and distant mountains making sunrise and sunset a spectacular show.

Amazing place for couples to take a peaceful retreat! We spent 9 days in Australia and The Hitching Rail offered the perfect location to see the best of Tropical north Queensland: Chillagoe and Cairns are easy day trips from The Hitching Rail, and close by you have Lakes Barrine, Eacham, and Tinaroo, as well as attractions at Herberton, Atherton, Malanda, and Yungaburra.
We stayed in the Overlander train car and it was beautifully redone on the interior, and the exterior boasts a kitchenette and a porch so you can enjoy the mild weather year round. The property itself is absolutely beautiful and you can't beat going to bed under a starry night listening to the sounds of the forest.

We had a fantastic stay at Hitching Rail Retreat in the Glamping tent, which felt more like a luxury suite than a tent. The king bed was incredibly comfortable, and the amenities made our experience even better.

Evenings spent by the fire pit in the outdoor bath, with a glass of wine in hand, were truly magical. Plus, you’re just a short 5-minute drive from Lake Eacham and the charming town of Yungaburra, where we enjoyed amazing cafes, boutique shopping, and delightful restaurants.

I couldn’t recommend this retreat more for couples seeking a relaxing weekend getaway!

Thank you for sharing this amazing location with us! The rooms are cozy and thoughtfully stocked with essentials and some local goodies. The fireplace and the deck delivered some amazing sunset views, perfect to come back to after a day out exploring the swimming spots near the area 🙂

Such an amazing little get away, the most beautiful little glamping setup I’ve ever been to, so clean and comfortable, we loved our stay and the staff were so amazing, the little doggos were so adorable as well, highly recommend, definitely going back ☺️

Brilliant stay, amazingly different in the overlander train. Attention to detail from the owner's was prefect. If you are ever on the Tablelands it is a must do.

We stayed in the Ghan train which was pleasant. The last night we were hear our neighbours in the tent decided to play loud music which was quite disappointing and rude to be honest. The place was nice but not very private.
