an absolute dinner must!!
dont overlook this place for dinner. we had an absolutely amazing dinner here. the seafood was fresh and flavourful, great portions for great prices! we have been for breakfast and lunch before and its always amazing and the service is 10/10, always so attentive but dinner was even more impressive! and the cocktails were outstanding and well priced.

The Hatter's has changed hands a few times in the past few decades. Each time, it has new and unique delights. So, how is it right now?

For my recent visit (April 2025) I found the service to be friendly, polite, professional, informative, honest and attentive. The atmosphere was not what it was earlier years, but is tidy and thoughtful. The coffee is next-level awesome - even the almond milk was of exceptional quality and the coffee was rich and aromatic. The food all sounded pretty good and I ordered the ginger congee with ham hock. It was most definitely the BEST congee I have ever eaten. With a light drizzle of med-hot chilli oil, a 6-minute boiled egg and fresh lemon wedges on the side, the bowl was bursting with flavour, comfort and warmth.

The breakfast at The Hatter's Cafe & Restaurant for $28/$18US included 2 eggs, toast, potatoes, chorizo, beans and salad. The restaurant was cold as so many places in Katoomba are. Had to bundle and obviously the food gets cold quickly. I made a breakfast sandwich with ½ my food and wrapped it in foil they provided for our hike. The chorizo was a bit spicy for me and I knew something sweet would settle the residual burn so I tried my very first Sticky Date Cake. It’s not my last, I thought it was delicious.

Very disappointed with The Hatter’s Cafe & Restaurant in Katoomba. I ordered a breakfast for $18 and received two eggs, two pieces of toasted bread, and a few salad leaves. The portion was tiny and absolutely not worth the price. For that amount of money, you’d expect something filling and flavorful — not a snack that leaves you hungry. Won’t be coming back and definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Amazing place to have breakfast and lunch. Last year i went there to have their pancakes and it was delicious. Their meal options might be limited for some but its good food. The prawn salad was amazing, big portion and quite alot. The fish and chips was also delicious and filling. The chicken Parmigiano was amazing but please make sure to properly check since I ordered it and didn't see it came with bacon. The Milkshake was AMAZING. though it came in a little serving for the price. However good food and beautiful atmosphere to have food.

This was our second year in a row to visit and loved it even more this time! Steak sandwich is delicious and we really enjoyed all of the breakfast options we tried. Staff were friendly and food was fast. Strongly recommend.

Service was attentive and friendly. Food was pretty good, with enough selection to suit all tastes, they accommodated changes and reasonable time frames for arrival of food from ordering at the counter.

We had dinner last night at Hatters Cafe and we had an amazing dinner. Service was exceptional and we were pleasantly surprised to receive a sample entree from the chef which had amazing flavours and set the bar for our dinner. Some of us had steak, lobster mornay, risotto and each dish was on point and delicious. Would definitely go back again for another meal. Thank you for the top service an amazing food. Simply delicious. Sorry no photos of our meal. We were too excited to eat our meals and forgot to take any photos.
