I had a good experience with a security guard at Poohbar. I don’t remember his name, but he had a beard and a mullet. He was calm and helpful when a drunk guy was shouting at people. He handled the situation well and made sure things didn’t get out of hand.

Rudest security I've ever seen in hobart was turned away at the door and told I had a lifetime ban for my actions the night before. 1. This is my first time going to this pub ever. 2. The night before I never even left the house. 3. i hadn't been drinking so I definitely wasn't turned away for being pissed

Great atmosphere Saturday night. A good mix of talent/ music techno/house from all over. Beer is a little pricey and nice decor. This place would be awesome with a smokers/courtyard!!

As a female, I had a really uncomfortable experience here recently with a male patron at this venue where I’ve only visited a few times. The bouncer who I think usually works out the front (not sure of name) took the issue very seriously and removed the problem person straight away. Made me feel safe and validated, which I don’t often feel at other night clubs in Hobart. It’s nice to know that there are people out there who care so much about patron safety. Thank you so much Poobah staff 🙂

It's a nice enough little venue. I've been here twice now. The atmosphere of the place is nice and gives a comfortable impression, particularly in the smaller room. The entrance to the venue is via a flight of steep stairs, so if you are somebody who is living with reduced mobility you may find accessibility to be challenging.
