You have to remember that this is an historic building. The original rooms are all small and they have created good seized ensuites out of rooms between them making them very comfy and self contained but you won't be getting a giant hotel room. We loved it. Stayed here as it was central to the CBD and we love staying in historic buildings. ||Lots of memorabilia and the proprietor was a wealth of information. Don't forget to say Hi to Dexter the cat. The meal room is large and warm with a good range of things to drink and eat for brekky. There is even home cooked cake each day to have for morning tea!||Very pleasant only down side is everything is upstairs so if someone has mobility issues it isn't the best place to stay.||Thanks for a great stop over.||There is also Wifi which was very handy.

We stayed one night here in a family room which had a double bed and 3 single beds. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The guest house had a separate lounge, dining room and bathroom facilities. Bathrooms were shared and we had to walk down the corridor to them which was no ideal. Breakfast was provided in the dining room and this covered everything you could want in a continental breakfast. The staff were helpful. For those with very heavy bags or mobility issues, this guest house is located up quite a steep set of stairs (don't think it has a lift). The location of the guest house is excellent, being in the main street of Broken Hill. This is a good option if you are on a tighter holiday budget.

What a quirky place! Lots of nick nacks placed around the guest house. Looks fantastic. Location is great in the centre of town. You have access to the kitchen and lounge room. We had a room with an ensuite, lovely and clean. Shower pressure was a bit slow and the mattress was a bit lumpy but it's easy to overlook this for the old fashioned charm of this guesthouse. Staff are friendly and helpful

I stayed at the Guesthouse as other places I would have preferred were not available. The price was good. IN all the place is clean enough. It is old and to be fair fits with the character and history of the town. My biggest disappointment is the owner or person at reception is smoking in the office upstairs and then attempts to hide the smell with very bad deodoriser which makes me feel sick. It does not fully mask the smoke smell (which I thought would be illegal in an establishment like this). This alone would be enough for me never to stay here again. ||Many rooms have shared bathroom option. This is clean enough yet has a reasonably open plan / door next to the men's which caused me to not shower early in the morning (5am) before I left as I didn't feel safe. ||Breakfast is provided with an array of cereals, toast and tea and coffee . ||Would I stay here again. NO. If I had low budget and didn't care about the smoking smell and a hostel style setup, probably yes.

It was a very good experience staying at the Grand Guest House in Broken Hill. The hotel was centrally located in the town. The breakfast and the all-day free tea and coffee plus the home made yummy cake makes the Grand Guest House very affordable. Thanks. Ashok Nath

If you have mobility issues don't stay here. ||I have an issue with steps and stairs as does two others in our party of five. This lead to having a dismal view of the place because when we booked we were not told of the lift problem. Service was off hand. Looks like the place is at the end of it's maintenance calendar, everything was shabby. The advertised wifi was not working. However, the beer was cold.

Well comfy beds, free cake, the queen say they shall eat cake, lovely it was too, I stayed there 2 years ago, coming back soon, oh free coffee, and free breaky ||What more would you want, but wait there is more, free Wi-Fi. And there are friendly cats that will protect you too, I totally recommend you come stay with them, your home away from home

There is a discrepancy between what is advertsied on the trip advisor/booking.com advertising and what you get. This hotel has rooms with shared bathrooms and some with thwir own bathrooms.|I discovered that what was confirmed on my booking following a call advising of my late arrival tha I had a room with a shared bathroom as opposed to what was on the booking confirmation and advertising. |Booking .com handled this well and cancelled without penalty and have said that they will be adressing the issue.|It is worth mentioning that the hotel reception was difficult to contact and dumped to me to sort out my problem. Not ideal!!! Trip Advisor needs to have a look at thiscas well.
