Walked in and waited at counter to be served, must have been about 7 staff behind the bar and not one staff member glanced to the front of the shop or acknowledged me. I walked out. Great customer service guys! Safe to say I won’t be back.

What a find!! Gorgeous shop, great freshly made cakes, muffins, cookies. Terrific coffee as well. Staff very nice & welcoming as well

Great location, well renovated historical building (Take time to look at ceiling) popular with locals and busy during peak hours. Staff are friendly and service can be efficient, a little disorganised, no table numbers or mechanism to track customers. Flat white was actually flat, flavour of coffee, watery taste and no sensation of milk), peppermint tea came in a decent size and had a great flavour. Bus stop around the corner, kiddy park across the street, great for meetings.

Nice coffee. Large is a relative concept here as the small cup I was handed is apparently their large size. See photo.

$30 for a takeaway "large" small coffee and a sandwich is a bit rich for me.

We’ve been living here in Darwin(and Jabiru) since July 2024 and coffee is very important to me. I have found some good cafes serving good coffee. Actually up until Saturday I thought it was pretty great! Then on Saturday morning my husband and I walked in to the General on Mitchell St and I can honestly say it’s the BEST coffee and atmosphere by far. And they’re not afraid of making my coffee ‘volcanic hot’ the way like it 😊
It opens at 7am and is packed with beautiful energy and people by 7.10!

I had a long black coffee for breakfast on a weekend and it was a great food and coffee!

However, yesterday I ordered a long black but they gave me a latte. This morning I ordered a long black but they gave me a long black with ICE 🤣 Those who take the orders must be trained again. Tomorrow and in the future, I will get my coffee elsewhere 😆

Update: got my large long black correctly today. A large long black (3 shots) and a plain croissant costing you $12
