This is a quaint little place on Margaret Street serving up good coffees and a nice selection of healthy and veg friendly foods. Opening hours are 6.30am to 2.30pm (Tues to Fri) and 7.30am to 1.30pm (Sat), closed Sundays and Mondays. There are a few small tables outside at Flying Sparrow so be ready for take-away if full up when you arrive.

We stopped by here recently and picked up a falafel wrap and spinach roll along with coffees. Food items were nicely packaged with jam, apple slices and salty crisps. We took them into the nearby Cataract Gorge where we really enjoyed everything served. Both were skilfully prepared and tasted very, very good. Coffees were just fine as well.

Service was really friendly, prices reasonable as well. Really enjoyed our take-away order from Flying Sparrow and would gladly visit again to eat in or do take-away next time in Launceston. Great job, guys!

Absolutely delicious breakfast this morning! I got the pumpkin and feta tart, which was accompanied by a freshly sliced pear, caramelized onion jam, and pretzels. An almond cappuccino and a custard puff rounded out this wonderful meal! Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend this cafe. Top marks all around. I’m on a 10-day tour around all of Tasmania, and this was the most scrumptious breakfast I’ve had on this trip 💖

The owners are so friendly, inviting and encouraging while not over selling. They showed a genuine interest and made me feel not only welcome but important - now the food wow I wanted to buy one of everything it looks amazing I did purchase a pastry with potato and Camembert that was warmed perfectly and served with relish and seasonal fruit, I have biscotti to take home that may not have all made it back to my motel, and a stunning peach tart that is currently talking to me from its packet. Coffee was awesome, flavoursome and perfect in every way. Yes there is only seating outside but that is not a negative after all we all know how to dress for Tasmania so go enjoy let your tastebuds rejoice they will love you for it!!

Had no hope on getting something so good on good Friday. Guys are absolutely lovely and warm. A roll came with an apple and side - what? Coffee is amazing, perfectly roasted and warm. They have loads of healthy options to go with coffee and lots of drinks. Sitting here feels like being in Rome.

We ordered breakfast and latte. All the dishes are really good, and the flavor of them is perfect. While I love the rice salad most. You will be happily surprised by it.

If you're looking for good coffee, this is your place. The added bonus of a mini choc chip biscuit on top of the coffee cup is a lovely touch. Their homemade selection of pastries with both sweet and savoury options is a pure delight with homemade accompaniments like chutneys and jams to compliment. The owners are delightful and provide exceptional and thoughtful service which is nowadays a long forgotten thing.

They are a very lovely couple and were very kind to me. I ordered carbonara, which came with pear, parsley and chutney. The presentation was lovely and I was very satisfied. Thank you so much!

Cute lil' roadside corner café ran by the loveliest couple. Was happily surprised at how beautifully presented the food was when it was served — with a side of crisps, organic fruit & salsa/relish! I'm glad we managed to come by for one of our breakfast, had a nice conversation with the owners too 🙂 Would definitely come back again if I could.
