The Esplanade Picnic Point - Maroochydore, Queensland

We had a lovely stay of six nights in January 25. The unit has a gorgeous outlook and view on third floor looking past tall gum trees over the water and with mt Coolum in the background. The unit was clean and comfortable and well appointed. There are walking paths nearby which are similarly well positioned.

Just a few negatives - we received no instruction on how to get in - there is no onsite reception and two locked gates/doors - we literally had to wait outside until another guest let us in, although we called the contact number which didn’t answer for a while, because they were away and had “bad reception”. Then the instructions on which key lock (there’s about eight) how to open it were very unclear. But once we got past that it was all good.

The car park for the unit is a nightmare to get into and out of / right at end near pillar and even with a small car it was a nightmare to park. The car park is accessed from busy main road even though street entrance is on the esplanade.

And last but certainly not least the lorikeets! It’s either a massive plus or a big negative / every afternoon about 5000-10 000 rainbow lorikeets descend into the tree right outside the unit screeching is ear deafening. It’s amazing to watch for a while then it becomes a nuisance because you can’t even hear yourself talk.

Peaceful and quiet location with water views. 5 minute drive to the local shopping centre The Sunshine Plaza(see separate review).
Lounge room had air con but bedrooms only fans. Kitchen was fairly well equipped but the spatula for the frying pan was melted and distorted at the tip and not safe to use. The mobile number they give you does not respond to sms or calls. There are some business cards at the reception(which is unattended) which has 1300 number you can call and leave a message. Bring your own toiletries(soap, shampoo) and tissues as it is not supplied.

We have greatly enjoyed our 10 night stay here. Great location, close to all the action in a quiet nook. Beautiful views. We felt very looked after by the management. Our well laid out 3 bedroom apartment, (unit 5), was clean and tidy and stock with sufficient homewares to be comfortable. The views and sunshine where great on both decks. The rooftop BBQ was really convenient when we had quests.

A wonderful place to visit and relax, have a picnic or even do some fishing in the Maroochy River. There's a boat ramp there to launch your water craft,there's also a BBQ area and tables and chairs. A very popular place.

Gorgeous river side views, bit windy at times but the view is worth it. Nice to just walk along the path or take the dogs for a swim. Renovations happening currently but should be upgraded soon. Set of public toilets

Great place.plenty of space to move around. Can't beat the location and the sunsets seen from the riverside are hard to beat.
