I'm not sure where to start, I've just spent two nights and three days staying at this truly amazing lodge, and I can safely say that out of every single place I have stayed around the world, this is by far the the best. From the second we arrived and walked into reception we were made to feel like we were the most special and most welcome people on the planet. |The Lodge itself was just perfect, every single item in it was top quality, even down to the kettle, which had multiple program's for every type of hot drink imaginable. The place was spotlessly clean, and I really do mean spotless. The furnishings and the beds were so comfortable, the wife and I both said we could happily live there, it was that good.||The surroundings were just stunning, beautifully laid out with an abundance of trees and plants. For me, the best part was getting up in the morning, and finding a wild Kangaroo sat literally at the bottom of the steps. I'm a smoker, your not allowed to smoke on any part of the grounds, but that didn't bother me in the slightest, the walk down to the gate was amazing, the different types of birds and animal life was just amazing. The area behind the reception and restaurant has a large infinity pool that overlooks a large paddock with Emu's, Kangaroo's and Koala's in it.||On both nights, and both breakfasts, we chose to eat in the "Warrior" restaurant, which is attached to reception and just off the terrace from the infinity pool. The food was just out of this world! I rarely eat in hotels or lodges, but the menu and quality of the food is absolutely top notch, and I can highly recommend that you eat here if you decide to stay here.||Now I come to the real jewel in the crown of this property.... it's staff. From the management to the cleaner, I have never come across such friendly, professional and welcoming people, they truly made you feel like part of the family and I truly can't thank each and every one of them for everything they did for us.||Overall, I can't recommend this stunning Lodge enough, if you get a chance, then staying here is an absolute MUST.||Thank you "Crocodile hunter Lodge " for memories that will life with us both forever.|

We stayed here for one night while visiting the Sunshine Coast, and it was truly incredible! If you're going as a couple, one night is plenty to soak it all in, but if you’re bringing kids, two nights might be ideal. We weren’t sure if a single night would be enough, but I can confidently say—it absolutely is!
I highly recommend arriving in the morning, as you get access to the zoo even before check-in. They take care of your luggage, and by the time you return on the complimentary shuttle, your bags are already waiting in your cabin. The cabins are beautifully designed, and having a forest as your backyard makes it feel even more magical. Sipping coffee in the morning, surrounded by nature, was pure serenity.
As for the zoo—no surprise here, it was amazing! We managed a full lap, watched the crocodile show, and even squeezed in a giraffe-feeding experience. Everything flowed so smoothly that we never felt rushed.
Yes, the stay is on the pricey side, but they go above and beyond to make it worth it. Along with zoo entry (including exclusive sneak-peek access to the wildlife hospital), you get a $50 dining voucher, free breakfast, a thoughtful goodie bag, and, most importantly, some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. Everyone was genuinely kind and welcoming.
If you're considering this experience—just do it. You won’t regret it!

This review is long overdue, but we’d like to share our experience.||||This was our first trip to Australia, and it was our first time driving on the opposite side of the road, haha!. ||||The check-in process was easy, and when we arrived at our cabin, we were greeted by wild kangaroos. We loved our cabin so much that we decided to extend our stay.||||The restaurant offered a great selection of meals, including vegan options, and their wine selection was decent as well. The ambiance was wonderful.||||We thoroughly enjoyed talking to the staff at the lodge. They were incredibly friendly and helpful, clearly taking pride in their work. ||||This place is truly magical, and what stands out the most is the attentive and knowledgeable staff. We loved learning about the country, the zoo, and Australian wines.||||Thank you to everyone at the Crocodile Hunter Lodge for making this experience special for us.||||R&R (California)

This was the experience of a lifetime, the centerpiece of our 9-day trip to the Brisbane area. We stayed for 2 nights (8-9 December) in cabin 10, a 1-bedroom fairly close to the main lodge building. Some cabins are a lot farther away, which could be a problem if you can't walk too far. Of course, we really came for the Australia Zoo, which is fantastic, but not too many hotels are in the vicinity, so we stayed at the Lodge. It's not cheap, but you get a lot for your money: (1) unlimited Zoo entrances on all days, including arrival and departure days, (2) free breakfast at the gourmet restaurant on site, and (3) a free shuttle van between the Lodge and the Zoo, including a driver (Belinda when we were there) who can take you past long entrance lines. The accommodations are fantastic. There are kangaroos, koalas and emus on the Lodge grounds, both wild and captive. The pool is beautiful and warm. The restaurant is among the best in Australia. The staff are truly friendly and helpful in every way, especially Kim at the front desk. I can't think of anything that went even slightly wrong during our stay. It was truly an experience to remember forever. I should have taken some pictures!

Have been twice with small children- the ultimate test for a high end place! Staff are incredibly friendly, rooms are always beautiful, and the food is magnificent. It's such a beautiful way to experience Australia Zoo, but doesn't need to rely on that; it's absolutely magnificent as an Australian nature lodge all by itself.

I cannot recommend and rave about this place enough!! From the extremely unique, modern, and captivating architecture of the cabins, to the most exquisite and delectable food experience we’ve had. Above all, the customer service! Special shout-out to our waiters Dan and Maddy! The customer service was beyond anything! Want to know about the best wine on the menu to pair with your food, with exceptional knowledge - see Dan! Want to feel extremely special and have a bubbly, beautiful, and attentive waitress - see Maddy!
All whilst swimming in an infinity pool watching the kangaroos, koalas, and good old Eddie the Emu! Don’t forget to order the Casper cocktail.
I am in LOVE with this place! And will definitely be back!!
Thank you Crocodile Hunter Lodge and Warrior Restaurant!

What a fantastic destination. If you need to relax and unwind, the Crocodile Hunter Lodge is the perfect place. I never wanted to leave the serene and comfort of the lux cabins and expansive native gardens. I had the best night sleep ever on the cloud-like bed and pillows. We enjoyed several meals onsite at Warrior’s restaurant where the beautiful meals made from many locally sourced ingredients were delicious. Staff were very friendly and made our children feel very welcome. Definitely looking to book our next stay.

In May I visited from the USA and stayed for 5 nights. It was a bucket list dream to visit the zoo, eat at Warrior restaurant and stay at the lodge. The lodge was absolutely gorgeous. You feel so connected to nature while still enjoying comfortable luxuries. The gifts and brownies were such a nice touch! Waking up to the sound of kookaburras was the perfect way to start the day. The free breakfast was outstanding - hands down the best food I’ve ever had and the chocolate crocodiles are just as cute as advertised. All of the animals look incredibly well cared for and are so incredibly calmly and mesmerizing to watch. Swimming in an infinity pool overlooking kangaroos, emu and koala is truly once in a lifetime. As an American who had never seen a kangaroo before, I can’t even describe how stunning it was to see wild Roos - including little joeys jumping in and out of their mom’s pouch! We received free shuttles to and from the zoo which was incredibly helpful. All the staff were so friendly and kind and the gift shop has lovely souvenirs (you must get the oil diffuser). The sentimental touches throughout the lodge are so thoughtful. The Irwin’s poured their hearts into this place and their efforts were worthwhile. Steve’s legacy lives on and touching the bottleneck trees he planted was surreal. The best trip of my life!
