First 3 days was a dream the last 2 was such a dampener to our 10year wedding anniversary.
The views and pool side were absolutely stunning and the bungalow was a great size and had all the right things.
By day 4 nobody from house keeping had come even know they should've come on day 3 so I called asking for more towels.
When the staff had arrived with fresh towels I had the wet towels waiting for her she let us know she would call around to have someone come to change the linen and take all the rubbish that we had bagged at the front door which was great because of the humidity and being beachside the bed felt damp and I couldn't get any of the towels to dry and we had no toilet paper.
My husband offered to take the rubbish to a bin we had seen and she said no someone should have come and they must've forgotten we were there and it isn't good enough and alot of the staff go to the island after a certain time but the she will have someone from elandra come.
2hours later no one had shown up or called we had no "included toiletries left" so I was waiting to have a shower to go to dinner I ended up telling my husband never mind maybe they will come and change the linen and do a turnover when we are dinner.
Open the door to a bag that had some bottles of water a few tea bags and muslie and shampoo amd conditioner but no toilet paper even know we let her know we were running out and the door still had the rubbish and the wet smelly towels.
The person didn't bother knocking or letting us know they won't be changing the linen.
This upset me my husband called them on the way to dinner and the phone clerk stated that the staff member who had supplied the fresh towels told him we didn't want the linen change and there was no one to come and he will send someone to deliver toilet paper.
Got back from dinner still with the rubbish piled up and the wet smelly towels at the door but now there was rolls of toilet paper.
I say to my husband I just want to have a hot shower and go to bed as it was now raining and cold outside and around 20°
Go to have shower and there was no gas in the hot water as they are ment to change it over when they come to do the linen... try call the number a few times finally a guy answers says ill see what I can do and let you know ... doesn't call back.
I was so disheartened and felt like 2md class compared to the people staying over at the island I still payed a decent amount to give my husband and I people who work very hard for what we have a dream wedding anniversary.
We were up and out before 7am as sleeping without having a shower in a damp bed didn't seem worth it.
Beautiful place to stay for a 2 night maximum.
The worst part is nobody even got back to us to apologies.
The rest of the towns people were lovely we ended up tipping everywhere we ate.

We are just finishing a short break at The Bungalows. It has been just as fantastic as the previous reviews suggest. A delightful spot and fantastic accommodation. Breakfast supplies provided enough for the three days and there were an abundance of towels||I think things have changed since last season. There is no communal area or pool and we weren’t given wine and beer but we weren’t expecting it so didn’t miss it|Would make a return visit in a heartbeat

I came across The Bungalows by accident after seeing the website for Bedarra Island which was booked out (and out of our budget unfortunately). From the moment I saw it, I essentially rearranged our entire four-week holiday just so we could get a booking here for two nights.||||Due to Covid, we had to cancel and reschedule a number of times. Jasmine was incredibly helpful with this. When we arrived, Jody was there to greet us and we were blown away not only by the setting and the bungalows, but also by Jody. She epitomises what customer service and hospitality are about. The whole time we were there, nothing was too much trouble.||||We were in bungalow 3 which was delightful. Not long after we checked in, I received some devastating news about a death in the family and was not really in a state to do much. I almost feel it was fate that I would receive such news while staying in such a magical place because having the beach right there and being able to listen to the waves brought me a sense of calm and peace and kept me going. ||||The bungalow was modern and spacious. The bed was huge and comfy, looking straight out at the gorgeous deck and ocean. We loved the bathroom design, especially the door that opened straight from the shower onto the deck. The kitchenette was well stocked with coffee pods, good teas, water, wine, beers, a variety of condiments, sourdough bread and organic free-range eggs. ||||The main house was stunning and has a beautiful big settee, TV, dining area and amazing kitchen. The pool is attached to the main house and is also amazing, we swam for ages on our second day.||||Can’t fault this place at all. For us, it was perfect and the best place we stayed at throughout our entire trip. We absolutely can’t wait to return.

This is definitely a 5 star accommodation. Each bungalow has it's own plunge pool and sundeck. Beautiful location, very well appointed and clean bungalows. Laying in bed and having the enormous sliding doors open to feel the sea breeze is a joyous experience. This is a place to relax and to enjoy life.
There are so many positives and superlatives that can be used to describe this place as others have done.
However, I will give my opinion on a couple of issues that I found.
One is that there isn't a really super comfortable lounge or chair to sit on which I would have thought would be a given, considering the type of accommodation. The lounge/bed against the wall isn't one that is really suited for sitting on for long periods. Very firm.
2. Bungalow number 3 is the one closest to the main building and is less private than number 1 as there is a propensity for people to walk past it around the garden bed. This needs to be addressed as the gardens need to be completed to have this unit fully enclosed and private. If I were to stay I would definitely recommend booking number 1 as it is the most private.
Despite this, I would definitely recommend the bungalows fit a holiday or even just a weekend away. It truly is a beautiful location.

Very comfortable bungalow right on an amazingly beautiful and deserted beach. We had three days of rain during our august stay. Apparently the worst weather in 30 years. Even so it was lovely sitting on the veranda and watching the wind, clouds and rain. We were lucky enough to see a cassowary at the back of the bungalow. Highly recommend staying there.

We loved our stay at the Bungalows and would definitely return for a longer stay next time. This time we stayed for two nights before being lucky enough that spend the rest of the week at Bedarra. ||It was great to unwind here before heading over to the island. The room is generously stocked for your arrival. There is a mini fridge, microwave and egg cooker for you to use, or if you need it, a full kitchen in the shared main bungalow (where there is also a bigger pool and laundry). ||It was so lovely to wander out to the beach to watch the sunrise over Dunk Island each morning. ||We recommend the hike up Bicton Hill. Handy to have your own car for short trips like that. ||Note that the Woolworths is not open on a Sunday! Though there is a Sunday market over at Mission Beach.

What a lovely and peaceful stay we had at The Bungalows. Excellent value for money. The place was beautiful, so quiet and clean. We loved the attention to detail and finding everything we needed for our breakfast the next day. Andrew, the host, was very nice and gave us great advice to fulfill our objective to spot wild cassowaries. Will definitely come back!

Very special place, stayed here for 2 nights on a road trip for some rest and relaxation and buy did this place deliver! Although the nearest takeaway place is only 500 metre walk on the beach you feel really isolated and very private, that was helped by the fact we were in low season and no one else on the property except for Clive. We had everything we needed including a great breakfast provided and walked the beach with none else around. It was stinger season but 500M up the beach is a netted area so got some fab swims in as well.|The property has everything you need and more including a communal kitchen area which would be great for family gatherings. We were not organised which meant local takeaway was closed ( off season) but that was our own lack of preparation! Highly recommend and just hope I get another opportunity to stay here.
