This place is as bad as the reviews say. We booked a twin room for a week. Firstly the hotel is actually called The Wray. If booking through booking.com don't book it under Beaconsfield because their contact details don't work never any replies to emails or messages sent to the property.

Check in is through the bar downstairs as no actual reception. Though rooms have fans they are still extremely hot. We opened the one window but the noise from the main street was insane and kept us up all night. So either sweat all night or up from the noise all night.

Shares bathrooms which is normally fine but they are also unisex and only 2 showers for about 10 rooms. The bathrooms are dirty, we didn't see any staff around the place, there is none after hours when the bar is closed.

We wanted to leave after the first night but no working contact details, we had to call booking.com and they gave us a different number to call, just some random guy that answered and said to wait to the duty manager at the bar to start at 10.30. Then took hours to sort it out between them and booking.com cause of the difference in phone numbers between The Wray and The Beaconsfield. They ended up charging us the second night cause the time it was all sorted it was 3pm even though we tried to leave at 7.30am.

This place is cheap but not even worth that, please avoid at all costs.

The only good thing was the bar staff downstairs at The Wray trying to help us were friendly and helpful. The actual manager went and hid in his office when we were trying to sort it all out.

Get what you pay for. The complaints here need to suck it up.

Yes, it’s above a pub. Pubs make noise 🤷🏼‍♀️

Even with a late room check in as the cleaners were still going, the bar staff looked after me.

Nice and simple, food in the bar was great as was the service.

This hotel seems to use different names. The Wray hotel was the name they used for my booking.
Worst hotel room I ever had in the whole world!

It heavily rained through a hole in the roof directly on our bed. Unfortunately we only noticed while waking up at about 2 am because the linen and sheet was soaking wet.

Sleeping then was almost impossible. I couldn't find any personal to help, so we had to sleep in a soaked bed.

When we checked in I had noticed water stains on rhe roof but thought that was from a long time ago and expected the hole in rhe roof was fixed. So it is obvious that this also had happened in the past and hasn't been fixed yet!

I'm totally upset and unhappy. You can't rent a room like this! The main purpose of the room wasn't given - a save shelter and place to sleep.

Later, I tried to contact the hotel on telephone and email, but the hotel did never answer to either agoda or my attempts!

Besides that, the hotel was really bad concerning the following issues:

Most rooms right to a big main street with lots of noise.

The house is really old, so no noise protection at all.

You can hear the bar and restaurant downstairs (loud music on weekend until late). You can also hear your neighbors and people walking on the corridor to the shared bathroom.

Also there are bright lights outside, lighting the house and windows so that it never gets dark in the room.

They also switched off hot water while people were taking a shower - without telling before.

All in all the worst experience I had while traveling the whole world in 2 years. I cannot recommend!

Left on street! Took money! Arrived with young family later than expected. They did not let us in. We tried for two hours phoning and begging to be let in. As it didn’t feel like a safe area, we went back to the airport and had to sleep there. When speaking to them on the phone the following day, they lied about phone calls and asked me to send through a phone log. They also said they would phone me back which they did not. I tried to send through the phone log as proof as requested, but they had given me fake emails. Each time I call I am told the manager will phone me back but nobody does. They have taken our money and ruined a family holiday. In addition to the night of the hotel, we had also had to pay for taxi to, and from the airport and could not do our trip the following day due to lack of sleep. This hotel is known as both of the Beaconsfield and The Wray. Please do not trust either I do not want other people to go through what my family had to.

The hotel has changed name to Wray Hotel and check in was thru the restaurant downstairs. Parking is available and free. Did not realized the hotel is with shared bathrooms and toilets. Nevertheless, we just stay a night as a stopover before going up North. Bearable for a night stay.

Asked for a very well done steak and it was totally pink inside. Come on chef this is so easy 😩 table of eight and one dinner took so long. Dishes left for a long time and no room on table. It’s ok……we left

A sports bar that is an open plan public bar. You can watch 4 screens at once of different Fox Sports. The bar section is at a higher level than main floor, allowing various separate seating areas. Hotel Lounge next door, has a good meal available but limited seating. Ask details at the bar. The lounge is not as new as the bar, more an old hotel style in decor. Drive through bottle shop and lots of parking. Can be busy when big sporting events are on. Boxing, AFL games and Rugby Union. Has all the facilities and clientele of a standard pub. But well worth it if you want to see a game of your faviourite sport on a weekend. They often have special function nights (comedy nights), see signs on footpath.
