Basic apartment. Basics provided for a few days only. No lifts. No reliable wifi. Its worse than a 3rd world country. The whole property is tired, outdated & almost disgusting. There are "beach" views far away & up over the trees if you are tall enough. It is also very noisy from early morning. Many homeless people who live in their cars are all along the front as well. Two would be carparks are taken up by 2 large tables full of rubbish - broken appliances & what other guests have left behind. As you enter, the whole entrance is full of stuff & under the staircase every single space, nook & cranny is filled with rubbish e.g. very old brochures, broken computer screens & appliances, personal bicycles, toys etc. It is very messy, smelly & hoarding. The pool does not look like the photos there are personal kayaks & personal belongings all around. The "host" uses the pool, the apartment, carpark everything, does his other work there etc. After paying several thousands of dollars to be at this below average place with not much provided, feeling very uneasy, the host expects the clients to have done all the cleaning as well. Shouldn't the host actually do his job?! No hotel, motel would ask this & they are cheaper.
If you like very overpriced sub standard, dirty, hoard-ish apartment that you have to keep spotlessly clean then stay. Otherwise do yourself a great favour & go ANYWHERE but here, thanks.
2ND Response: What dog hair? And what dog for that matter? You got the right person/people? We only wish that we had left the run down unit the way you falsely described.
Not ranting, pics attached. Malcolm are you really moaning because you had to do your actual only job? No other accommodation in Oz/world expects their ‘housekeepers/staff’ to be idle & publicly complain. They just get on with the work day. It is called Hospitality.

Malcolm and his daughter were great hosts, always friendly and helpful. We appreciated Malcolm's great sense of humour! The appartment is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The beach is just across the street. Yorkeys Knob is a nice seaside neighbourhood, conveniently located to explore the area. We had a lovely stay and will remember it fondly.

We stayed in two different places during our Cairns visit and this was by far the better one. It is a large, beautiful two bedroom/two bath apartment with a large balcony that overlooks a park area, beach, and ocean. It was quiet and had all amenities that we needed, including free parking, wifi, washing machine, and kitchen. The bed was comfy too.||||The apartments are managed by a wonderful family who is very helpful for advice on making the best of your visit. Thank you Anna, Malcolm, and Tahlia! We will always think of you when we think of Cairns!

What a wonderful family! The Beach Place was everything we needed for a group holiday. Malcolm, his partner and beautiful daughters are great company and wonderful advisors on Cairns and surrounds. The hospitality was exceptional and very personalised. The rooms are exactly what we wanted and were very relaxed the whole holiday. Highly recommend!

I booked through Agoda on 21/3. About three weeks ago i was emailed by the apartments to ensure I was still coming. I replied yes and would he like me to pay the balance. I heard nothing. On Friday I rang to make sure all was well with the booking as we leave to fly in 4 days and I was on the phone to a stressed, unprofessional manager who said “yeah i have that booking but there has been an issue and we cant accomodate you for the last night. I am also not happy with the price you paid. I explained we are a family with three children “what do you want us to sleep in the car. The whole of Nth Qld is booked out”. His response “yeah im|Not sure what ya gunna do”. Thanks for absolutely nothing. We have travelled far and wide and have NEVER had this happen. I am absolutely disgusted.

I have reviewed this place before and it is worth another mention.||I booked for 3 weeks and then extended a week at a time for 3 weeks. I would not have left if it wasn't for the the place being booked out by regular overseas visitors.||Large rooms with a beach view from dining lounge and kitchen. Brand new furniture!! Very quiet as to the north is reserve. You hear the birds and the dropping of coconuts from the trees.||Very casual and well looked after by the owners. They also have the shop down stairs where you get the best bacon and egg rolls.||Well worth it.

We found Malcoms place after we found our air bnb was nothing like the description and cancelled it. Luckily he had space. Very nice to deal with, apartment was clean and had everything you need. Couple of very minor points though; internet wasn't the best not that we cared as we were out all day and the top floor washing machine bangs on the wall/floor which is annoying but it's not all the time. Malcolm recommend some good eats/coffee places all of which were on the money. I recommend joining The boat club for $5 then you get 10% discount on your food/drinks and $15 meals on a Monday. The best coffee in my opinion is Yorkys cafe, Tim runs it, great brekky too. There's also the hidden cafe down the road which is also good. I've had coffee downstairs in the ten 06 cafe and contrary to other reviews it did not have ants in.....it's always lively but doesn't intrude into the apartment and the food is ok. Overall very good noting the minor points mentioned, definitely a good spot to base out of. Enjoy.

Such a beautiful location right on the beach. Malcolm and family (including the little pup) were so accommodating and great hosts. Bonus having the cafe right there also with live entertainment. Close to everything including Cairns and Port Douglas. Comfortable and spacious. Highly recommended. Loved it. Thank you team. Will be returning.
