We were on our way home from an awesome camping trip and wanted some good food, so we decided to stop here—best choice ever! The service was exceptional, the food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Everything was cooked to perfection, and the staff made us feel right at home. A fantastic spot to unwind after an adventure, and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Highly recommend!

This is our new local and we love it. My favourite meal is the French Garlic Prawns and the chef is always kind enough to let me swap out my salad for veges. I also have a real weakness for the onion rings with a side of aioli. My partner can't go past the country and surf ( chicken scallopini and prawns in a cream sauce). The steak sandwich is also really good. The ribs are amazing and the pork belly is also really really good. The staff have always been really accommodating. The meals come out pretty fast usually. The live music is always a treat. NYE had a very talented lady singing. We usually sit upstairs because we like the atmosphere and the are of the pub is more apparent up there. I've seen someone put a really bad review, but they said something about their buzzer going off. The Australian does not have buzzers, so they have obviously mixed up their pubs. I know this pub changed hands around August 2024, which is when we moved here. We haven't had any bad experienced and we eat there quite often.

Probably wouldn’t feed it to my dogs.
Had better food on camp sites.
The “cook” needs to go back to McDonald’s flippin burgers.
Would never go back.

The food was terrible. Our buzzer went off, we were outside. We took maybe 5 mins to go in. Then the chef yells at us that our meals were ready. He was extremely rude. The only good thing about our evening was, Liam the bartender. He was so friendly. We will not be back. Early hours in the morning, I woke feeling ill.

Went to the Australian for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised to see gluten-free burger options on the menu. Ordered the steak burger and it was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The staff are super friendly, the service was fast and the breeze outside was really nice. I'll definitely be back!!!

Open all day Sunday Dinning. Had a great chicken burger 🍔 there, at $24.00. With a great kids play area in the beer garden.

3 of us had lunch today
After i placed 2 orders I walked out saying to partner not confused that this order will be right.
Senior Steak get asked for senior card lucky I had one . These are nice small meals so normally available for anyone anywherecwe have gone in gympie .Said how we wanted steak cooked medium veges mash.
Had to repeat a few times
Salmon special chips n salad no lettace ( it's a health issue)
Same repeated salad no lettace 3 times.
Had chef come out to ask how we wanted steak cooked again....
Received meals salmon and veges? Obviously myn3 tines requesting salad o lettace didn't get heard.

Salmon was overcooked Was dry and steak a bit tough.
Walked in to check keno and listened to this barmaid demanding senior card from a lady n gentleman. Telling this lady you need to order a senior card quiet rudely. Lady mentioned they are looking for a house in Gympie she has only recently turned 60 and wanted an address before she ordered one.
Barmaid. Well this time you can have it but not again.
I mentioned it's wrong to be demanding senior cards when obvious people just prefer smaller meals. She said well you can't have kid meals either. No where in Gympie we have eaten DEMAND to see a seniors card for senior meals. Disgusting behaviour in my opinion
This person should not be behind bar far too rude .
We won't be back
Gets a 3 because chef was kind and friendly.

Had a nice night at the pub with a few friends last night. It's changed quite a lot since we were there last with the change of management.
Still a bit of a way to go but it has great potential.
