Julie and I stayed at Fairlie and Mark's little slice of tropical paradise and the only word that sums it up is 'perfection'. The room is beautiful and the hospitality is second to none, including the lovely breakfast delivered to you on the deck, surrounded by the lush tropical garden. The location is great and really easy to access by bus or car. We both loved our stay and loved getting to know our gorgeous hosts. Will be back!! 🌴 Thank you 🌴

We stayed at Tabu for 2 night recently.
The accommodation was great but Fairlie and Mark made the experience even better, great breakfast and good suggestions on where to go around Cairns.
The best part was the tropical garden that Mark had created, you felt like you were staying in the middle of the rain forest. We had a bush turkey walk past the door and butterflies fluttering around us at breakfast.
Should have stayed longer.

We were only planning to stay for 2 nights and took one look at the place and didn't want to leave! Luckily Mark and Fairlie had a cancellation and we ended up staying a total of 6 fabulous nights.
Not only was the room beautiful; the hosts were more than accommodating, the garden was a tropical wonderland and the breakfast each morning was delicious and made with love.
We were truly sad to leave and will not stay anywhere else if we come back to Cairns!

Loved staying at Tabu, Cairns. Fairlie and Mark are terrific hosts and make you feel right at home from the minute you first meet them. We felt like we were staying at a friends house. The accommodation itself is large and comfortable and the gardens are just amazing! Fairlie put together a yummy and hearty breakfast each morning and it was so lovely to sit on the deck, watching the birds and butterflies in the garden. We highly recommend staying here whilst visiting Cairns and can say for certain we will be back 🙂

If you ever get the opportunity to to go to far north Queensland, you MUST try to stay here! It's beautiful beyond what can be conveyed in pictures, and truly feels like a luxury resort. The room is beautiful and tastefully decorated to suit the beautiful outdoor spaces. The ensuite is cleverly designed to give you the privacy of an indoor space, with the novelty of feeling like you're showering in the rainforest itself. There's also a shower tucked away in the garden near the pool if you feel like showering off after a swim :).
Tabu is about as convenient as it is possible to be to Cairns, whilst still being juuust far enough away from the industrial city centre to relax. It's also slightly quicker to get to the Tablelands & Mossman Gorge from here.
Breakfast is to die for. Mark & Fairlie catered to my tricky dietary requirements beautifully, and we enjoyed a picnic basket brought to us each morning with delicious fresh fruit, juice, eggs, cold meats, cereals, yoghurts etc. There were coffee and tea making facilities and a little fridge to store any food/drinks in that we brought home at the end of the day.
Our breakfasts and meals were made more special because of the location; we ate at a lovely table right outside the bedroom door, on the beautiful verandah overlooking the seen-to-be-believed gardens.
By the way, if you're interested in the gardens Mark can give you an excellent tour- he's very knowledgeable.
Mark & Fairlie themselves are wonderful, warm hosts, who will make you feel instantly at home. I really hope we have the pleasure of staying here again in future.
