We decided to head to Stoney Creek as it is local to where we live. A quick 40 min drive with the caravan from Mackay and we felt like we were miles away from the city.

Steve and Deb are great hosts, non invasive and very helpful,.

Did the horse ride and that was awesome. Steve is very experienced with horses and we will be back.

Camping area is pet friendly, but as usual ensure you leave the property as you found it.

Me and my wife have been traveling Australia and wanted to ride horses. Stoney Creek Farmstay was able to accommodate us on short notice and led us on a beautiful bush ride with a great view. They are professional and great fun. For anyone who has kids, there was 2 young kids with us as young as 13 riding the trail with us. Their horses are very friendly and beautiful. 10/10 would recommend to anyone.

Had an absolutely amazing weekend! The barn is absolutely beautiful and felt like we were the only people around for miles, completely serene in the early morning listening to birds calling while having a coffee by the fire.
The trail ride was breathtaking, the horses are surefooted and calm as could be, Steve is a fantastic instructor and we had an absolute blast!
Thank you so much Steve and Deb we had a fantastic weekend and will definitely comeback to have a stay in the cottage 🙂

Stoney Creek Farmstay is a beautiful place and our host Steve was very friendly, helpful and professional. We had a great horse ride with amazing scenery and enjoyed every moment. We will definitely go again and highly recommend a day or more out there to anyone.

Had a great weekend away with the misso (for her bday). We stayed in the stables accomidation and it was brilliant, beautiful construction, campfire cooking, warm cosy bed. It felt like stepping back in time away from the stress of modern living.....all without roughing it :).

Senic horse ride was brilliant, simple instructions, well trained horses and a gourgous bush track through the mountains. Id never been on a horse before this and it was no issue, steeve will tell you all you need to know to suit the horse your on, makes it easy to kick back and enjoy the ride.

Will be returning to stay and ride again 😁

We spent our 8 year anniversary last weekend staying in the stable accomodation which was amazing and a great chance to chill out from our busy lives. We were lucky enough to go on 2 trail rides, I absolutely love the horses and Chrissy is amazing!
We feel like Deb and Steve are family now, we got to spend a lot of time with them and they are truly fantastic and so accommodating. Deb cooks a delicious dinner!!
It was definitely a trip to remember as we also got engaged!
This was our second stay and we cannot wait until we get to go back, hopefully really soon!

A beautiful escape from reality! Will always recommend to people. Myself, mother and sister in law stayed overnight at the Dead Horse Hostel and it was absolutely beautiful. Did two trail rides. Debbie, Steve and Chrissy are absolutely wonderful people working together as a family to look after the people of Stoney Creek and the beautiful horses. Thank-you Steve, Debbie, Chrissy, Butch, Levi, Axel, Diesel, Montana and Marshel for providing an absolutely wonderful weekend getaway!
The owners are wonderful down to earth people and know what they're talking about. I'm a beginner rider and they successfully taught me how to trot without falling off or injuring the horse!
Great people, Great place, Great memories. Will be back again one day!
