We had a party of seven and reserved a table. We were placed outside but the hostess was accommodating and said there were tables indoors.
We had lovely meals even though there was a wait, but that's because the meals were great.
You could see they were a well oiled shop, a few of our party worked in hospitality and noticed the staff did a great job of talking to each other and doing what needed to be done.
Well done St. Bernards. It's busy cos it's the place to be!

I cannot comment on the rooms as I was a day visitor. The service was lovely, friendly, helpful. Food was very good. ?
And prices are reasonable given the location - which is stunning! The sweeping views from the deck are food for the soul - nature and sky abounds.
Will certainly return for a future visit. ?

I had dinner tonight at 6pm 24/12/24. My partner and I wanted to choose somewhere special for Christmas Eve together. We were extremely disappointed with our visit and a bit shocked. We paid almost $100 for dinner and more on drinks. When I made the booking online I also mentioned it was our anniversary and we were looking for a romantic spot. When we arrived we were sent to a reserved table that had an empty bottle of wine and hadn’t been wiped down yet. We thought it may have been a mistake but it was reserved for us.

The food was also brought out all at once with the sides and the server dropped them abruptly on the table. I also watched how she served the other customers and it was quite rude. My steak that I order medium rare came out very well don’t and was half fat.

When we order our beers the server let the cups overflow and out over the bench. He then handed us the wet sticky glasses without saying anything.

Overall it was our first and last time visiting. The location was beautiful but we are honestly shocked about the service and food quality.

I hope the team take this feedback on to avoid impacting others dinning experiences.

Fabulous location to visit. We visited on a Sunday and the venue was very busy, which was great to see. The bar was swamped and they were low on staff as it seemed so the line was long. Lined up to order food only to find a surcharge applied for the food on Sunday, so an additional $18 on top of what our meal was. The food came out and it was absolutely horrific. Schnitzels were soggy and tasteless, crumb falling off, salad was old and rubbish. To top this all off the service from the staff was non existent. This is an iconic venue, and we have had good experiences there before, but on this occasion it was awful. Clearly not able to handle the busy periods.

We came here yesterday for lunch after a long trip. Location is perfect! Food is good ? . For me and my friends it’s more of a place where it is perfect to sit, chill and just enjoy a place away from the busy city streets. Their food menu offers a variety of options. As for the food that we’ve ordered, they were all good and in reasonable price! We are pleased to meet their 3 beautiful and friendly St Bernards. Highly recommend this place.

The view was great, the food was great, the service was great as well. The hotel looks a little dated in places but it is over 100 years old, so I can forgive it. If you go you'd better like St Bernards, (the dog). This is a place with history and with the visit.

So disappointed with the entire experience. My little family and I are staying close by the restaurant and were recommended to have dinner at St Bernard’s. The view was spectacular however, the service and food were a major letdown. We are far from top critics but when it comes to simple pub like meal, there was a lot to be questioned. We had a 6:30pm booking and waited 50 mins for our food. I can understand if the restaurant was busy, it may have justified things however, it was not. When I attempted to ask if our food was going to take much longer, i was quickly told that the food was on its way. Unfortunately, our food arrived like it had been benched for a while. My steak was over cooked (I asked for rare) and I was given another steak within minutes and was closer to blue…

Such a shame, the location is stunning, it was clear that they were under staffed and someone isn’t valuing the importance of prompt service and well cooked food.
