We don’t know why, the food looked good but it just tasted bland? Happy with everything else. Price good. Service very fast and outside in the shade lovely on a warm day.

This place has become our favourite spot for English breakfast. The coffee is consistently excellent, and the breakfast offerings are simply unparalleled.We’ve tried nearly every item on the menu, including their specials, and we’ve never been disappointed. The variety of options ensures there’s something delightful for every palate.

The staff’s positive attitude and dedication to great service never go unnoticed. Every visit feels like a treat, and we’re always met with friendly faces and top-notch service. The coffee is amazing, the staff are lovely, the only thing that let us down was a 20 minute wait outside in the cold for 2 take away coffees. It would be great if staff could let people know if there are extended wait times - or even get a second / bigger machine. It’s a busy place!

Defiantly not our first time here and defiantly not the last!

We always come in after a big night and get a Bennie’s gone bad.. which is just the right way to start the day!

This time we got a croissant, a bacon and egg roll, a few muffins and an iced coffee and everything was cooked really well, taste great!

Even though we were hungover / tired beyond belief they treated us kind, helped us with our order, love the staff!

Nice spot to sit in the mornings to have breakfast inside or outside. I also love how many dog owners come down for a coffee!

Normally we eat in but today we got take away to mix it up, the plating of the food is normally soo beautiful but even in the packaging they still made it look and taste delicious!

Actually quite a surprise. As we weren’t expecting there would be a cafe that gave us surprises on the North East side of the city. There ain’t many options here on the North East. The appetiser, the tiramisu was very yum. 😋. The coffees comes up very quickly, which is very nice. The pink sauce on the tofu scramble was very good. They definitely have more than just beetroot in that pink sauce. The beef patty in the burger is juice and rich. In all, very good experience.

Love Square 44 and I'm very grateful for their variety of vegan options on their menu that are actually yummy too! The acai bowl is great and their tofu scramble is super tasty (gluten free options available). They make a great soy latte, they're really good at heating up the alternative milks, and the staff are always incredibly friendly and polite. We always leave happy.

I went to specifically have this today and I can sincerely say it was spectacular and I was not disappointed! It was not only visibly beautifully presented, it tasted absolutely amazing and delicious! My absolute compliments to the chef of Square 44 Cafe! The chef who put this together should be on the cover of The Delicious food magazine!
Keep doing these dishes and I’ll be back every day! Great job!!
