I had a good experience but there are definitely things that need to be improved on. The good: the food is excellent. The main clubhouse is nice and there are always activities going on. The staff are super friendly. I found the quality of the lessons to be generally good, though it depended on who you had as an instructor. The bad: the washrooms are rundown. There weren’t that many showers and a couple had shower pressure that was barely a trickle. Most of the accommodation are tents which was actually fine. You’re sleeping in real beds, but I really didn’t like that they didn’t have locks or any way to secure your possessions. One thing I would’ve liked to have been aware of ahead of time was that the camp also houses a large number of foreign seasonal workers. These people were generally nice, but there was an incident where one of the male workers followed a girl to her tent and made her very uncomfortable. Nothing about this incident was communicated to the rest of the camp even though to my understanding it was reported and the police was notified. As a woman, it’s super important to me to know that I’m in a safe environment, especially when there are no locks on the rooms. I strongly feel that we should have been notified about the incident and I feel it was instead swept under the rug.

EDIT: This is my response to the company review. I stayed here in October 2023. While I don’t know what the accommodation looks like 11 months later, I can attest that every single one of these tents was occupied by campers. I booked my stay through a travel agency. I did raise my concerns about the incident to a staff member at the time and he told me that it was being handled and he couldn’t tell me anything else. Which I understand, there are obviously privacy and potential legal considerations. But they were obviously aware that something had happened.

Have been here 3 times and just keep coming back. Great vibe, awesome place, awesome staff. Love it. The location is amazing and the solitary islands walk trail gives you a coastal experience that adds another level to the X factor!!

I was at Surf Camp Spot X a few weeks ago. I liked it there a lot! The rooms were comfortable and the food was delicious every day. I really enjoyed surfing, especially because I got good support from all the surf instructors. The other staff members, such as Liam, are also very friendly and I had a great time there!

Mojo surf camp is an absolute MUST DO for your trip on the east coast of Australia!
My friend and I had the best time learning to surf and meeting so many great people. The staff are amazing, a special thanks to Bailey, Tom, Milana, Mike, and Joe who made us feel very welcome and taught us so much. There were fun social events on every night and a campfire for everyone to enjoy. We recommend adding on the additional activities like Ocean Rafting and the Kayaking Tour as they were a thrill!
The staff were prompt to pick us up from the bus station and made a special effort to ensure we didn’t miss our early morning greyhound transfer. Laurens was my favourite instructor and made me feel great! 10/10 experience!!

I LOVE SPOT X!! Mojo surf is a must on your east coast travels in the most incredible location and with even better instructors (Joe, This, Tom were the BEST). Great TV for downtime too. The one thing that I’d even suggest changing is the food as I would have loved some desserts with meals and something hot for lunch like chicken tenders!? But best week of my life :))

I had an amazing time at the spot X surfcamp! The staff was super friendly and fun, from the start with the pickup from Mick to the welcome at camp from Nikki. All the instructeurs were chill and fun! Thanks to Joe, Rhino, Tis, Tom and Laurence for teaching me how to surf. The chef was super sweet and a great cook!! I also got lucky with the amazing other people who were there! Thank you Julie and Bo for the pictures

Extremely expensive place for what you can get. very poor cleaning. very precarious bathrooms. fair to poor attention. The photos they send you in the pdf are very far from what it is. The place looks pretty run down. If you are a surfer and are looking for quality waves, it is not the place, only for beginners. very precarious kitchen, you better bring your own things to cook because what is there is always dirty
If you are a couple impossible to sleep togheter.
For the same price you can a rent a room 50 times better in surrounding areas.

A pretty nice surf camp with a lot of good people. Such a great time! A good atmosphere every evening. The surfcoach „Labo“ did a fantastic job, I learned in one week surfing pretty good, at the end with carving in the waves as well. Tom, (nickname Tom Cruise) also was a pretty good surf teacher. The food also was delicious, the chief did a good job. I can recommend it a lot. If you want to learn to surf, then you must to go to the Arrawarra Surfcamp!
