This place is a scam. Do not stay here!!! We paid $250 for this so called “Deluxe Villa” that was covered in large dead ants and a few that were still moving. Not only that, this place was absolutely filthy, dust everywhere, stench filled, and the sheets are in the state of unwash for ages, covered in dust (and ants of course). Our findings shocked us and we were afraid to inspect under the sheets.

We tried cleaning up so that we’d feel more comfortable staying here but it wasn’t enough for us. Especially with the man in the unit opposite ours, doing drugs. We left after an hour and sent an email requesting a refund but we’ve been ignored. How can anyone offer such a place, call it a “Deluxe Villa” and charge $250 a night. We won’t even stay here for free. This place is a scam and based on the other reviews too, Southport Tourist Park should be investigated and shut down. This place shouldn’t be allowed to stay open.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! You’re way better off sleeping in the car like we did after we left or find another place to spend the night. Just not here! The pictures on this and the website are heavily edited and fake. If the owner dares to challenge our claims, please visit this place and witness the disgust, drug use, and the utter sham of this establishment yourself. Please refer to the images we’ve attached, showing our horrid experience at Southport Tourist Park. Here are the real pictures and state of Southport Tourist Park. (We have videos too but we can only attach photos).

The place is horrible. The elderly lady that runs it mainly gets housos. Today she kicked out a young couple with a newborn because the mother in law who they can't stay with visited. Also a clean living 30 year old man was kicked out because his quiet brother visited to bring some belongings. I get the no parties and noise this but these people were innocent. I am sitting in my cabin with bed bugs crying.

We were thankful to get a spot here when everything else on the Gold Coast was booked out. We have paid a premium of $70 per night which was still ok just being thankful to get in. From here the review goes downhill, this would have to be one of the least maintained parks we have ever stayed at, and we have stayed at a lot of parks. It is fair enough that it is an old park we can accept that but really, keep your lawns trimmed and your pathways cleared, tidy up the fencing falling down, level off the paths that are sinking and tidy up the office. I believe it has just been sold so hopefully the new owner does something with it.

we had our own RV so didn’t stay in the rooms so have no comment about them, but as for the service it was good, the lady was very nice to us, let us know that some dodgy people keep coming into the park and informed us of security cameras, numbers etc. we had no issues. as per the people who live here, they are not the rich or famous but they were all super friendly kept to themselves and would even go as far as to say if we were outside especially at night they stayed clear of us as a group of young girls. the pool was lovely and the location was great. we can all honestly say we had a lovely stay and we’re treated with respect and felt safe. wouldn’t be appropriate for young children though as i feel the people staying there may dabble in substances (same car driving in and out all night going to different trailers)

I find it quite dangerous as the smoke alarm was hanging from the ceiling. Obviously illegal. Although the stove doesn't work I still would never bring a child here . There were always police around and just a horrible environment

Rooms where disgusting, not just one but all three of the cabins I had went in. Bed bugs. The owner was screaming at another tenant after barging into his cabin, cops had to be called on her.
I was treated with respect only when I let her talk down to me, I demanded a refund and left asap.

Doreen was very rude and demanding. Price went up to $1600 and we said how can you change it extensively like that then she said you can work to pay for rent it was okay so worked 7 days 12 hours a day we said we're taking atleast the weekend of and Christmas off she did not like that then she turned evil calling us names giving 2 days to get out so had to be out on new year's eve. Our top balcony was Brocken that almost fell through our carport was rusted that I don't know how it did not fall down the amount of bleach burns we received from the pool it was horrible. We asked if we could leave our stuff there until we found somewhere to to go was fine but we head $5800 worth stollen from us. Don't go there she is nasty and will try and make you feel sorry for her

Although the park is well worn in, my wife and I were given a very warm welcome by our hostess Nora, who gave us an immaculate clean and comfortable cabin. Just off the main road but still nice and quiet for sleeping and was close to all amenities. I would recommend this park to anyone who is doing a quick visit to the Goldie.
