Not kidding, the bathroom sink is INSIDE THE SHOWER!!! The photos do not at all reflect reality. The hotel has 12 rooms, and only 1 room has a proper bathroom which you will see in the pictures on all the hotel websites. Do not stay here. False advertising.

aDAM Northbad

Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and it was bad. The toilet is crammed right next to the shower so be prepared for the most uncomfortable poop you have ever experienced. Also brace yourself, as there is really loud Indian music that played both nights, with the windows not preventing any noise what so ever.

Great pub bistro in a modern dining environment filled with natural light. Diners can sit by the large windows to watch the cars passing by on Princess Highway. ?

Serving size and prices were reasonable and staff was friendly with good service. ?

I come here to have a meal & a drink as I live just up the road so can't comment on the accommodation. The food has always been consistently good & it's nice to have some healthier options such as my grilled salmon with boiled new potato & broccolini
Used a 2 for 1 deal from Entertainment book which made it a good price.
Whenever spirit companies do promos (eg Bacardi, Patron) where you can claim a free cocktail they always honour them here with no issue.
There is plenty of space inside & free parking.
Was a lovely day this past weekend & it was lovely to see that they have a large outdoor section which has a separate side for the smokers so we none smokers can also enjoy the outdoor section.

Ordered a medium rare sirloin with mash and veg. Admittedly I did order at 8:45pm and kitchen closed at 9pm. The veg was a trio of bad. Cold, overcooked and unseasoned.. the mash was dry, like it had been held at temp in a Bain all night. The steak was closer to well done than medium rare. But it was actually seasoned nicely, though for a sirloin to have unedible gristle along the top for $36 is inexcusable.

Now I fully understand the staff want to get out of work and go home at the end of a long day/shift. If I’m paying $36 for a steak I want it cooked right, I can forgive the sides of the steak is done right. But look at the photo. That the middle of the steak. No good my people. No good.

The room was very clean and spacious, very good location. We do not suggest to stay when they have parties because they have very loud music until midnight. The manager was absolutely unhelpful to resolve the issue. The window in our bedroom is beautiful, is original but very old and doesn’t close at all and also doesn’t have any view, but just air cons. Until midnight practically you have the party in your bedroom. If you are vegan forget to eat here, no even the salads are vegan. Anyway, there are many other places in Sydney with the same price. We were in another hotel for 4 nights, but unfortunately the bedrooms were unavailable.

Have been frequenting Southern Cross for many years being very local, but have tired of coming for Sunday Roast only to discover it has run out. Happens at least 60% of the time. Dining at Tempe Hotel right now enjoying their Sunday Roast and have actually discovered it's a whole lot nicer than it used to be. SC have now lost quite a bit of future business from us. Update 22/8/24. Now downgraded my rating and won't be back at all. Old $25 steak and beer now $20 for steak, beer is extra, I assume around $10. Would have happily spent $30. Price rises are reasonable. However, they then tried to charge me $2 extra for varying the side which used to be included. So I didn't eat tonight. Won't be back here again. Funnily enough, it's dead here again.

Absolutely great experience at the southern cross hotel! Great food and atmosphere and staff were very attentive to everything! Would highly recommend and will be back again!! Melita and Olivia couldn't have been more hospitable and welcoming and made me feel like part of the family.. will definitely be back again!
