We had the most amazing stay at Somnium Bingie between Christmas and new year 2023. The house surrounded by one km of lake front was so peaceful and the view from every area in the house was stunning, the photos really don’t do it justice. The hosts Chris and Nat were so accomodating and laid back. We had plans to do day trips around the area but found we just stayed at the house and enjoyed the kangaroos and scenery. On the lake, close to the beach and some pristine nature that can be seen from your bedroom! Already planning another trip here.

Somnium at Bingie is pure luxury and generosity. It is private, peaceful, healing, uplifting and one of the best destinations we have stayed in our 30 years of travel. It touched our souls deeply and we will definitely book again.
We were in awe of the quality build which blended in to the natural landscape. I do believe that the owners engaged the perfect architect who specified materials such as timber, marble and concrete and incorporating these in a unique and sustainable way.
Added to this was underfloor heating, a fully equiped kitchen, luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms....WOW!!
We loved the two separate living spaces because a great part of your holiday is enjoying your own space and then coming back together. We also enjoyed the most fabulous fire pit we have ever seen!
We observed the "BEST" of Australia, having a 360 degree view.....lakes, native bush, lush green rolling hills and countless hopping kangaroos.
It was also an opportunity to support businesses on the NSW South Coast who did it so tough during the bushfire period.
We recommend a wonderful restaurant in Moruya called "The River" and also wish to thank the owner, Natalie who was amazing to deal with and added to our thorough enjoyment of Somnium.

I had the most magical pleasure of staying at Somnium for a few days, Summer 2023. Somnium is so healing, quiet, private, and breathtakingly beautiful. If this is what you are looking for, look no further.
Kangaroo watching was a highlight! I have never been so up close and personal with kangaroos in nature. We spent hours and hours watching them and their antics, which truly was a gift.
I slept like a baby in the peaceful location, and had a glorious time reflecting and relaxing. Thank you so much. I hope to be back again! A very very special place xxx

Somnium is a marvelous place to get away with family and friends. This luxurius, eco-friendly place is nestled in a beautiful location surrounded by water and national parks. If you fancy a bit of adventure, the nearby beaches are spectular, the fishing is on point and the hosts offer kayaks and bikes. A big thanks to the owner Natalie who was delightful to deal with and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Somnium, the pictures do not do it justice. Both inside and out it is a quality built versatile home which ticks every box. In terms of location, it has amazing lake, escarpment and ocean views, native fauna at its doorstep and set in a peaceful private location in the most pristine east coast region with lake-frontage - yet close to all facilities, attractions, etc. No wonder the area is known as the Nature Coast. The house/home itself is large but so well thought out and livable that it can cater for larger groups or just a couple wanting something special. It was hard to leave. Its owners, Natalie and Chris, are lovely people who have made great use of natural building materials like rich timbers which really showcase what modern Australia has to offer without neglecting its past. It is new to the market and we are glad we got in early as word will spread. We rarely give reviews but this one is a must. Thanks again and warm regards, Pete and Claire
