Excellent location, so close to the Opera House and Sydney Harbour. A lovely old hotel with large rooms and comfy beds. Customer service was excellent. Large bathrooms in the rooms and the breakfast was very good. We arrived before check-in time and our room was ready and we didn't have to wait. Really appreciated that. Loved our stay.

Great location and close to Overseas Terminal as we stayed before and after our cruise. Opposite Botanic Gardens. Spacious rooms although the first room was a little tired. Very nice bathroom. Comfortable bedding and window that actually opens. Quiet for sleeping.

The bed was so very comfortable, the room was expansive, the view was great! Due to weather, we arrived a day earlier having missed a different flight. Our checkin was so smooth, whisking us away to our room even earlier than normal checkin time, BiBi being so helpful to us.

Fantastic location and quaint old fashioned colonial federation feel / theme makes it unique and a special place to stay. Staff all efficient and personable. Nice artwork and decore also fit the vibe highly recommend. Close to everything at Circular Quay also a bonus and easy access to train to get around easiliy.

After staying here for 20 years or so, I found the room very disappointing on this occasion.
Certainly not as the promo photo indicates.
The common areas are still displayed nicely as always.
I can see that the sumptuous atmosphere in the room that I had has certainly gone.
The only plus is the location.

I was thrilled to visit Sydney and spend precious time with my son, his wife, and their baby, sharing in the joy of family. We booked the Sir Stamford Hotel at Circular Quay, expecting a safe, high-standard place to make memories. But instead, this stay became a heartbreaking experience that I can hardly believe happened.

During our stay, a heavy ventilation cover fell from the ceiling of my son’s room, hitting his arm, leaving him bruised and in pain. The image of what could have happened if it had struck my tiny grandchild still haunts me. I felt helpless watching my son, hurt and unable to even lift his child, due to what seemed to be the hotel’s lack of proper maintenance.

I had expected compassion and a responsible response from the hotel management, but we were only offered a free meal—an offer that felt dismissive, almost insulting, in light of the fear and pain my family experienced. To add to the distress, my son’s family had to move to different rooms repeatedly due to various issues. Not once did anyone from management reach out to check on their wellbeing.

It’s hard to express how upsetting this was for me. The hotel’s location is wonderful, and most staff were kind, but the lack of accountability and empathy left me feeling deeply disappointed. I wanted a happy holiday with my loved ones, but instead, I left feeling anxious, hurt, and saddened by this experience

Perfectly located!

A block from Circular Quay and 3 minutes from the light rail stop and train station - this is the perfect spot to base yourself for venturing out wherever you choose in Sydney!

The hotel itself is well-maintained and the rooms are spacious and well climate-controlled. The decor is really lovely too!

Beautiful views, perfect location, very comfortable and spacious suite, excellent service. Had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous hotel! Highly recommend Sir Stamford Circular Quay and look forward to staying again on our next trip to Sydney!
