At Sidney's Retreat it was great to be in the heart of Katoomba, within short walking distance to all shops, cafes, restaurants and transport if required. The view from the back deck is terrific, and the house has a real 1920's atmosphere with appropriate decor.
Unfortunately it rained for for 5 days solidly which dampened our enjoyment. Such is life!

Great old fashioned property centrally located in Katoomba. The property has a lot of great original features and we were cosy and comfortable. Some maintenance issues which I emailed the property manager about. Also access a little tricky. On street parking only and steps and path slippy and uneven when wet so could be difficult for some.

Spacious and comfortable home with a great location in Katoomba. Located in a quiet neighbor a couple blocks off the main street in in Katoomba. Easily walkable to shops, restaurants, bars and groceries. Street parking was plentiful. The ceiling fan in the living room was nice during the warm weather. Unfortunately it was too warm to use the nice looking fireplace in the living room. Nespresso coffee maker was great in the mornings, and a large fridge was available for food and drinks. A highlight for me was the lovely back porch and all the windows and natural light in the living room. The house looks well equipped for colder weather with the fireplace, space heaters and electric blankets on the beds. Great communication from the host Jenny. The Internet connection was flaky during my short stay, but Jenny had already been working with the service provider to get that addressed.

This is a well designed holiday house. Very comfortable to stay and close to everything. I think I will come back if I want to have another blue mountains gateway.
Something you might want to know before you choose this house: there is no dishwasher and washing machine, and there is only 1 bathroom.
However, for a small family weekend gateway, I do not mind not having them.

This spacious but quirky house is brilliantly located to explore Katoomba and the perfect size for two couples. It's just a few minutes walk to the main street and a few minutes drive to the Three Sisters. The best part of the house is definitely the deck with amazing views over the valley. The rooms are all spacious, the kitchen is well equipped (loved the coffee machine) and there is a lovely big claw foot bath in the bathroom. Bacon, eggs, bread and milk were all provided for breakfast. The living room had lots to keep one entertained on a weekend away; games, books and dvds. The only things we didn't like were that the sink in the kitchen was badly marked/stained which was a bit of a turn off and there was no off street parking. Just a note, there's a fan but no air con in hot weather and a lovely big fire, heaters and electric blankets for cold weather.
