If you're in Ballina and you have found the light house lookout, Shelly Beach is too your left, and so is this amazing cafe. It's right on the beach with a fantastic view. Coffee is great, but the bean choice isn't perfect, but the food presentation and taste were brilliant.

It’s a beautiful place to sit and have lunch but on the day we went the service was very slow and honestly the food was not very good. I had a mushroom risotto and with the pesto on it ….it just tasted awful. Husband had a roast beef roll and the beef was cut in thick chunks that was too tough for him to chew. We heard such good things about this place but for us it was disappointing. We also found it to be a very limited menu.

Went to the Friday night sunset session and loved it! The live music, water views, and laid-back vibe made for a perfect evening. The Balinese barramundi curry and nasi goreng were sensational, and the $12 margaritas were a great touch. Excellent atmosphere and service—highly recommend!

Every visit to this gorgeous cafe is fantastic! The food always looks incredible as it arrives at your table and it tastes delicious! The menu is so diverse that everyone will find exactly what they want. The view is breathtaking and you will see dolphins every time and whales during their migration. The staff work exceptionally hard and are so friendly. They make you feel special each and every visit - even if you are just sitting sipping a coffee and staring out at the magical blue ocean ?

Amazing experience. Super nice spot too watch the whales splashing around. Hot chocolate and the brownie are delicious.

What a fantastic place to enjoy a delicious lunch. We were so pleased with the food and enjoyed every minute of our experience at Shelly Beach Cafe. The Thursday pasta special was very tasty as was the salt & pepper calamari. Nothing like 'Pub' food. These meals were made by a chef who obviously knows his stuff. Thanks heaps. Keep up the good work.
