We had the most wonderful time at Shantara Resort. A complimentary upgrade for our room made for the nicest surprise, especially after our luggage did not arrive with us. Staff were so helpful and friendly. The resort itself is amazing. A relaxing, tranquil location with great amenities. Rooms were well presented and clean. The pool setting is so beautiful. Being an adults only retreat made this resort even more appealing. We can’t wait to come back.

We recently stayed at The Shantara, an adults-only hotel in North Queensland, and it was an absolute delight. From the moment we arrived, the peaceful atmosphere immediately put us into relaxation mode. This hotel is perfect for anyone seeking a quiet, child-free getaway.

The facilities are outstanding, especially the beautiful pool, which is perfect for lounging and soaking up the sun all day. The rooms are modern, spacious, and comfortable, with every amenity you could need.

The staff were incredibly friendly and loved engaging in conversation, which truly made our stay even more enjoyable. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring the charming town, with plenty of activities just a short distance away.

Overall, The Shantara is the perfect choice for a luxurious, peaceful escape. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved Shantara Resort.|Great location only a short walk from Macrossan street.|We stayed in a Shantara apartment with pool access and we just loved it. Theres was plenty of parking for our hire car.The room was spotless, plenty of room with dining table, lounge suite ect, very comfortable bed, great spacious bathroom but the winner is the pool. We spent many hours just swiming and relaxing by the pool. Also had a hot tub in our court yard which we used a few times too which was lovely. Being adults only makes you feel like you are in another world it is so quiet and relaxing because everyone is doing the same thing. Relaxing!We will be rebooking again for sure!

We were warmly greeted by staff on arrival. They staff offered to change our booking so to be more conveniently located in the complex and we agreed to the change at no extra cost, fantastic!
We spent most of our time in one of the two beautifully located pools.
The whole complex is spotlessly clean and very tidy.

This our third visit to Shantara Resort and was as perfect as always. We needed to upgrade our room to be next door to family and the receptionist was most obliging and found us an apartment suite. I was so happy with this room that we will book the apartment suite in future. Room was spacious and very comfortable leading directly on to the pool. What an awesome view to wake up to each morning. I highly recommend Shantara as it is within easy walking distance to all the restaurants, shops and the marina.

Lovely accommodation in Port Douglas. Just a short stroll from Macrossan Street and the 4-mile beach. ||We checked in after-hours, but the instructions were easy to access plus the procedure to get into the carpark.||We booked a studio pool access room which was rather small but very lovely for a few days. If we return and I am sure we will I would highly recommend a 1-bedroom apartment which would give you a bit more space. However, for 4 nights the studio was perfect, kitchenette with everything you need, crockery, utensils etc plus a microwave and fridge. The bed was super comfortable with lovely linen and towels. The bathroom was spacious with a great walk-in shower, small vanity etc. ||The small balcony opened onto the shared pool deck which gave you immediate access to the pool. My only gripe here is the occupants of the room next door left their towels on the lounge chairs all day even when nowhere in sight.||The pool was lovely to slip into after a busy day out sightseeing. As it was low season there wasn't many guests which added the ambience and relative solitude.||Lots of great places to eat, for a fab coffee try the Larder which is just up around the corner. For a sunset drink the Tin Shed upstairs balcony just catches a lovely breeze and the view is stunning. Salsa never disappoints if you are looking for a lovely meal. There are heaps of other places to choose from depending on your budget. Fabulous Thai across from the supermarket complex.||Highly recommend, have stayed in Port Douglas a few times and thought we would choose Shantara this time. The weather was hot and the monsoon rain still had not arrived.

We arrived for our babymoon, our early check in request was available and the staff were great at communicating this to us as we arrived in Cairns.
On site free parking was excellent as while everything is within walking distance having the option to drive made life easier.
The pools were amazing, no children made for a peaceful environment, excelling in promoting relaxation.
Room was clean, well air-conditioned well stocked and wonderful to stay in.
Washer and dryer facilities outside the rooms were a nice touch to keep everything clean if needed.

Would stay again in a heartbeat. 💓

Everything was just perfect. Cannot fault the location, premises or staff. Room was clean, amenities were new and bathroom well stocked. Bed was comfortable as was the couch. The pool is delightful and access from our balcony was well worth the investment. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful all the way from our first booking, many months ago, to our arrival; they even put our pre-ordered groceries away for us as we were arriving very late Christmas eve. As an adult only venue, this allowed us to fully relax and enjoy this resort. It is a short walk to the beach and main town centre. Highly recommend. Would happily return.
