We had the most incredible wedding at Sergeants Mess in October last year! From the moment we first visited, we knew it was the perfect place for our special day. A huge thank you to Brooke and Abby for their outstanding support.

Brooke was incredibly organized and attentive, keeping us updated throughout the planning process to ensure everything stayed on track. Abby expertly managed all our vendors, which allowed our wedding day to run seamlessly.

Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the delicious food and exceptional service. We truly appreciate everything you both and the staffs on the day did to make our day unforgettable!

Our wedding Day - 24th August 2024
From the moment we visited Sergeants Mess for our viewing, We fell in love with the venue and the amazing service.
I continued to drag my (now) husband to 15 different venues to make sure we had the right one, and we both kept coming back to Sergeants Mess!
From the very beginning to the very end nothing was ever a problem and the team couldn’t be anymore helpful. A big thank you to Brooke our event coordinator for making our dream wedding come true, she was so patient and calm and made the whole wedding planning experience a breeze.
Another big thank you to William and Abby for all your amazing help on the night of the wedding, from when we arrived to when we left our wedding, everything was taken care of and our wedding went off without a hitch!
Our guests continue to talk about how amazing the venue was including the outstanding view, amazing food and impeccable service!

We had an amazing experience at Sergeants Mess for our wedding in July. Brooke was incredible from the moment we met until the evening of our wedding. Abby was on hand the night of our wedding and she delivered service like I’ve never had before. All of our guests commented on the delicious food, outstanding staff and beautiful views. We couldn’t have asked for a better team and venue to begin our married life. I would highly recommend Sergeants Mess for your next event, it will be one to remember.

Very beautiful venue. Great views, balconies very nice.
Acoustics not good for a large event.

Food is good, but not their strength. For the price the food is below average. Some dietries weren't catered for well eg: dairy free not given sauce.

My (now) wife and I had a wonderful wedding experience with the team at Sergeants Mess.

Planning was well documented and organised, and we had a key contact every step of the way who was responsive and clear on timelines and requirements to make everything a success.

The tasting dinner that they offer is a great experience and really helps get everything organised menu-wise, though the food and wine is so good that it’s very hard to pick what to keep!

On the day, everything went swimmingly. The amphitheatre outside is glorious and the view and vibe with everyone there is exceptional, especially when you have a string quartet playing on the bar balcony!

The staff helping, particularly Abby the co-ordinator on the day, were all exceptional and went the extra mile to help. At one point there was a slight issue with the bride’s dress, and while the bridal party did their best to find a way to fix it, as soon as Abby found out she had the solution in minutes!

The food was excellent, and the alcohol selection was very impressive, we were able to serve wines that we really connected with, and everything was well received by the crowd.

We are very happy we selected Sergeants Mess for our special day, thanks team!

Take it from myself, a wedding photographer who has worked at this venue many times. Sergeants Mess is one of Sydney's best venues! The views which span 180 degrees looking out over the harbour will provide the perfect backdrop for your wedding and will no doubt be sure to leave a lasting impression on both you and your guests. There are also many incredible photo spots to be found around the venue or down at Chowder Bay (30 seconds down the Rd). The staff are also very accommodating at this venue. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

Wow, wow, WOW. We booked this venue for our wedding and you HAVE to as well. If I wrote everything I wanted to in this review, I would need a publisher.
This venue gives you everything. Location (you've seen their photos). Size! you get the whole venue, this includes the reception room, a bar and a function room, plus the balcony area. And trust me, when the sun is setting you want to be out there for the view. Privacy (it's secluded, but so easy to get too) The backdrop to make the photos of your dreams. Parking directly outside the venue (this is public, but plenty of it).
Then, the food!! They have a massive choice and that includes vegetarian. We went with the Choice menu. This allowed our guests to actually have 3 choices of food for each course. We loved this because it allowed us to have a dedicated vegetarian option for each course.
Our coordinator (planning) - Lily, was an absolute dream to work with and went above and beyond to accommodate our every request.
Our Bridal Attendant (on the day) - Abby, was exceptional on keeping everything running to perfection. Once the ceremony was over we retreated to our private room where Abby had provided us with a bottle of champagne and other refreshments and also food so we could relax and take it all in.
The reception was a hit and no guests complained about the food/drink or the time it took them to be served. Every guest has praised the venue and hospitality.

Pro Tip: We got married on a Thursday - Ask the venue about the price on being married outside of Friday/Saturday. You'll be shocked in the best possible way.

I really have so much more to praise, but I hope I covered the best points for anyone looking for a venue. They ABSOLUTELY have to be on your shortlist for a venue. Just go and talk to them and I promise they will become your #1 choice.

Our wedding at Sergeants' Mess was truly an amazing day & experience.

The sweeping views of Sydney Harbour provided the most incredible backdrop for our ceremony, and then venue itself had everything we could have dreamed of. Our guests loved the variety of spaces and options to enjoy throughout the evening - the bar area, the downstairs lounge area, the function room, the balcony, it has everything.

Brooke, our wedding coordinator, was fantastic, guiding us through every detail of the planning process (of which there are heaps of little things to address!). On the day, William, the manager, was superb — no request we had was too difficult for him, and he was always there to ensure everything ran smoothly, which it did.

We would highly recommend Sergeants' Mess for any special occasion but particularly a wedding - we loved it and our guests loved it too!
