Great view! One of the best cafes in Hobart. We were a group of six people and everyone ordered vegetarian food. And every dish was made to perfection and served with a smile. Gets busy very quickly so book in advance and spare some time to enjoy the view along with delicious food presented beautifully!

Disappointing Experience Overall

I had high hopes for this restaurant given its stunning location and excellent views, but the food was a massive letdown. I ordered the pork belly, which turned out to be almost entirely fat with barely any meat. The cherry tomatoes were raw inside, and the poached apple was so undercooked it was basically raw. The couscous was drowned in an overly salty sauce, making it unpleasant to eat.

The menu lacks variety, which is surprising for a place charging such high prices. When I voiced my dissatisfaction, the waiter suggested swapping the dish for their “best option”—fish and chips, which didn’t feel like much of an alternative given the cost of the meal.

The view might be amazing, but a good restaurant needs much more than that. Sadly, I left feeling unsatisfied and out of pocket. Definitely not worth the price or hype.

I had very high expectations due to the location and the waterfront views, but I left deeply disappointed. The menu is extremely limited, especially when it comes to healthy seafood options. I decided to go for the pork belly, a $35 dish that turned out to be an insult: two pieces of pure pork fat, flavorless couscous, "poached" tomatoes that were actually raw with their skins barely roasted, and a raw apple soaked in an unpleasant syrup.

The corn fritters were another disaster, clearly fried in reused oil as they came out dark and greasy. To make matters worse, they made me sick.

A restaurant in such a prime location should deliver a dining experience that matches the setting, but unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We visited on 12/01/2025, ordered 2x coffee and just missed out on breakfast, which is what we were there for, so went for lunch. Coffee was good.

First thing, the Lunch Menu needs a serious revisit. Not much variety and such a lazy menu. I am not a chef but fond of cooking and I am sure I can make up a better menu. We ordered fish and chips, and pork belly as we liked the view and location so we didn’t wanna to another place.

Fish had thick batter that was not sticking to the fish. Fish was mushy and had ZERO flavour. Chips that were supposed to be ‘super crunchy’ were mushy in the inside and crunch was non existent.

Pork belly (like a few other reviews), was 3 chunks of fat and the 1cm skin was the only thing ‘ok’ to eat. The inside had no flavour and it was just fat that made me feel sick after eating. The 2 apple pieces were not soft or anything. No attention was given to cooking them.

Big fail in the food department. Premium pricing, premium looking location but below average food. I would not recommend.

Location and the view was 5 stars but the fact that the outside seating area had no ventilation meant we cooked in the heat for 45-60mins.

This place has the most amazing view. We enjoyed our breakfast in the sun watching the water. The food was also delicious. I had the sweet crumpets which were so soft and fluffy. Would highly recommend.

Very disappointed with the food. There is no healthy kids’ menu, and not even a pasta option on the menu. The pork belly is the size of an entrée, with too much fat and not crunchy enough. Extremely expensive—just two tiny pieces for $35. It was not just my dish; three other pork belly dishes also had poor portion sizes and bland flavours.

I bought the pork belly with high expectations, but was completely disappointed. For $35, I expected a generous, well-prepared portion, but what I got was a tiny piece that, to top it off, had almost no meat on it. Most of what they served was just skin and fat, with nothing substantial to enjoy. The portion was so small that it didn't justify the price at all. Plus, the meat that was there was so thin that it was barely noticeable. I honestly feel ripped off for what I paid. I wouldn't recommend it at all; there are much better options for that price.
