Was thoroughly impressed with the food and beverage service. The meals were tasty and of excellent quality, offering great value for the money. Despite the restaurant being busy, the chef delivered consistently high-quality dishes, which is commendable. The staff were friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall experience. The hotel's location adds to its charm, and I absolutely love the new menu that has been introduced. I will definitely be returning. Congratulations to the chef and the entire team for making my visit so enjoyable.

Here’s a more polished version of your review:

I recently visited this restaurant for dinner and a couple of drinks. While the setup was a bit confusing at first, what stood out more was the overall atmosphere. It seemed to be primarily staffed by young girls, many of whom appeared more concerned with outshining each other in looks than providing attentive service.

Unfortunately, the experience felt quite age-dependent. If you’re young, you’ll likely get smiles, friendly interactions, and proper attention. But for those who are older, the service is much colder—no smiles, no thanks, and certainly no warmth. It almost felt like the staff saw it as just another shift to make money and move on, without any regard for the actual customer experience.

The food was decent, but sadly, the lackluster service really took away from the evening. It’s disappointing when a place puts so little effort into making all customers feel welcome.

ordered Chicken Schnitzel salad & chips for lunch.
The Schnitty was small (especially for the price $27) main problem was it tasted & smelt like fish !!!
Obviously cooked in old oil used for cooking fish & calamari
Won't be eating here again at what was once a Great Place ☹️

Fabulous hotel for a lazy lunch in the sun. We eat here every time we visit South West Rocks. Amazing food with great options. The prawn tacos are my husbands choice but mine are the cauliflower tinga tacos…. Absolutely delicious and vegan friendly! Great service and awesome atmosphere.

What a really good country pub. Staff very friendly. Heaps of locals having a ball. Everyone in a great mood. The booze selection is good, the staff make an excellent cocktail. Wine selection limited but had good things on it at a fair price.

Now the food: we had corned beef and chicken pot pie with a side of garlic prawns. The chicken pot pie was better than I can make, I’d like to think I can make the corned beef as good as what I was served but I may be kidding myself. It was excellent and the side of garlic prawns was epic. Huge serves great price.

Rooms spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable, and blankets looked recently laundered.
There is no way to put overhead lights off without removing the key tag from the receptacle.

The Chicken Pot Pie from the Bistro downstairs was very ordinary - a bowl with mashed potato on the bottom, some sloppy and very salty chicken stew next with a small cold disc of hollow puff pastry on top ( oh and another dollop of mashed potato).

We ate here and my wife's pumpkin risotto was very nice and I ordered the pork knuckle which I couldn't finish but it was very good. The pub is in a great spot right in town and facing the town beach.
Cheers and enjoy

A centrally located Hotel in South West Rocks and is near other shops and a short walk to Horseshoe Bay and walking paths. This Hotel offers accommodation but we go there for meals when in town. The restaurant has an outdoor area (heaters in winter) and indoor seating. There is also a separate room used for functions or large gatherings.
The menu is mainly a typical pub menu offering shared plates, burgers, pizzas, seafood, salads, grilled meats, and other mains like corned silverside. They also have a selection of kids' menus, and soft serve icecream is also available.
The prices range from $9 to $42.
The seating is comfortable and colourful.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
There is nearby free parking and a couple of steps to get into both the side and front doors.
Would highly recommend a visit.
