We have to agree with the previous comments. We stayed at the cottages last Thursday for our Wedding Anniversary as we were looking for somewhere romantic and not too far from home, however we had almost the same experience. We were greeted at the gate by a stern woman in a golf buggy who ushered us to our cottage with military precision. The cottage did not disappoint and the owners have thought of most concepts to make for a romantic and comfortable stay. Unfortunately there is no privacy afforded as Glenys returned at 5.30 to set the table for dinner in our cottage then again at 6.30 to serve the main course and again at 7.30 to serve dessert! One visit was all we had envisioned when we ordered dinner served to our room. She was very taciturn bordering on gruff and we felt as though we were intruding the whole time and that she was monitoring everything we did. The next morning breakfast was served promptly on time, however again while we were out exploring the property, she apparently visited our cottage to remove the dishes! Somehow we didn't consider five visits in less than 24 hours particularly private. The meals were enjoyable and portion sizes very good - no complaints there. The only time we got a smile from Glenys however was when we handed over money to pay the bill! (Bit annoyed though, as less than a week later I see that the price has dropped by $40). Needless to say, we won't be going back.

A very relaxing weekend away for our birthday, very quiet with a great view of the countryside. Relaxed in the spa, sat by the fireplace and was able to cook a yummy breakfast. The kitchen has two hot plates and all the equipment needed plus there was a bbq outside on the deck. if only it was warmer season so we could lay on the deck chairs and watch the clouds roll by. We don't normal go to places twice, just so we can explore more places, but we're very keen to come back here again soon. The host was lovely, recommended a great restaurant and wonderful service.

I stayed at these cottages last weekend and loved every second of it! the weather was miserable, but it just added to the romance of the place. Glenys was a fabulous host and was very welcoming and accommodating even though we arrived late on a Friday night. It's a shame that they aren't serving meals to the cottages at the moment as I had heard from the locals that they were definitely something to look forward to. But to make up for our disappointment we were greeted with champagne and chocolates in our cottage.||We were provided a 'cook-it-yourself' breakfast pack that was easily barbecued up each morning for a casual breakfast overlooking the scenic views after a leisurely sleep in. I had planned ahead and packed some cheese, crackers and fruit platter that was a fabulous treat with some bottles of wines collected on trips to the local wineries just over the highway.||I would definitely return, perfect for quality time as a couple!

We stayed one night at the cottage because we had a wedding to attend. We were picked up in a golf cart when we arrived and taken to our cottage. The room was lovely and very well equipped. Tidy and spacious. We even spotted some board games in the cupboard. The spa bath was amazing. The couch and bed were really comfy. It felt very private and we couldn't see any of the other buildings from our room. There was some lovely wildlife around, outside the bathroom window was a birds nest and when we came back late at night a lovely green tree frog greeted us at the door. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

A perfect two night getaway. The cottages are very private, spotless & well appointed, the hosts are discrete & wonderful cooks & the wonderful Rosevale Pub is just down the road. |Compared to other accommodation the pricing was very competitive. We stayed in the low season so scored a 2 night stay + 2 (2 course) breakfasts + 1 night (3 course) meal all included for a great price (that wasn't included on their very basic website, so its worth calling them if you're looking for a deal).

Our second stay here and we absolutely love this place. The cottage has everything we need, a beautiful fireplace, a big spa, and a view to die for. Glenys is super helpful with any suggestions of activities or restaurant's around the area, and the buggy ride from the car park to the cottage is great for transporting luggage. We will 100% be back for a 3rd time.

We decided to stay overnight when catching up with some friends in Kalbar. The cottages are cute and cosy and have everything you need. Considering what is included, champagne and chocolates on arrival, spa bath and fireplace, these are really good value. It is in such a peaceful setting and the sunset views are amazing. Owners have thought of pretty much everything to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.

Scenic Rim View Cottages has a lot going for it. The cottages are modern, well appointed and comfortable. This is a country retreat. You won't run into many people - other than the guests in the other two cottages and the owners. The food provided was decent though I wouldn't rave about it. And the latest the included hot breakfast would be served was 9am.||||What disappointed us about our stay were the owners. Most of our interaction with the owners was with the wife. She was not particularly welcoming - very reserved in her conversation. That could have been overlooked if it were not for the incident when we went for a walk in their adjoining property - as we had been advised was possible.||||We entered the property (a cattle yard with dam) at the first gate we came to. We later realised this was the wrong gate when we saw a newer and easier to access gate further down. At the wrong gate we couldn't undo the latch so simply squeezed through the existing gap. We enjoyed our stroll, checking out the birds and kangaroos, but then noticed the male owner came down and secured the old gate so noone could squeeze through anymore.||||When we got back to the main area, near reception the female owner came out and told us we had used the wrong gate. We explained we hadn't seen the newer gate until too late. I took exception to her tone, the fact they had been watching us and the way she seemed to be implying we had broken the gate - which we hadn't done. I asked her if they normally watch people while they go for walks and she said yes as they could walk off the mown tracks and there are snakes. Well there are snakes everywhere in the country and what are they going to do about it when they are 10 minutes away?||||Unfortunately this incident made us feel 'watched' the rest of the time we were there. It is a shame about the owners' controlling attitude and lack of hospitality because physically it was a nice place to stay. I wouldn't go back.
