👍 Reviews of Saporo Cafe Box Hill

For those who are suitably average. Yes, if you lack a refined palette, this Saporo will excite you! Coffee was bland and weird tasting-- they do use Vitasoy soy milk and the beans were average. The food is mediocre... and the service? Honestly, i felt ignored as the staff appeared more interested in chatting to eachother than providing quality customer interaction. Such a disappointment! One plus point is that the decor is nice.

Very bad service here, food has no price so be careful. Most importantly, coffee pretty average there! Would not recommended!

The food is overpriced. The staff are only friendly to the regular customers. They don’t mark any price on pastries. Make sure you ask before you purchase. It’s ridiculously expensive. Coffee is average. The only reason is busy because of the offices near by. Save yourself some money and walk down to box hill centre for better options.

Very poor service. We asked for soy milk and they still used normal milk. We even double checked with the barista and they confirmed they have used soy milk. I’m lactose intolerant and I can certainly tell the difference between soy and normal milk. This has happened a few times before but I never went back to them, but it just became unbearable as it happened too many times. We spent $12 for something we can’t drink at all. So we decided to go back and ask for an exchange. When we went back and told them they used the wrong milk, the lady just yelled at us and threw us a very bad attitude and she even lied, saying that we didn’t say “soy” while ordering. And the next moment she became so nice to the White customers. This is horrible and so racist, I’ve never been treated like that and I’m so disappointed and hurt. We just wanted her to make two soy coffees, is that too much to ask?

We go there every week and everything is nice the service is prompt, food fresh and ambient environment, just might have trouble parking and have to pay like $2 for parking.

Saw the poor reviews but tried my luck and got a matcha. Mostly just tasted like milk and wasn’t great for $7. The lid was also not well sealed and leaked onto my shirt.

Soporo Cafe Box Hill is definitely one of the better cafes I've visited lately. I ordered a skinny cap, extra hot with 2 sugars and a jam donut. As is usually the way when I order my coffee extra hot I was expecting to receive it at like warm or regular temp but not at Saporo, it was exquisitely hot to the point where I had to wait quite a while before I could sip it without burning my tongue, that's the way I like my cappuccino so to receive it as requested was a nice surprise. The coffee was very nice tasting and lo and behold, the barrister actually stirred it so the sugar dissolved rather than just letting it sit on the bottom like so many do. I don't understand the practise of putting sugar in and not stirring,🤷🏼‍♂️The jam donut was fresh and had a lovely dusting of fine castor sugar, very enjoyable. It was fairly late in the arvo when we were there, they were actually closing up but there were still a few people there and more coming in so I think this is a very popular Cafe and for good reason.
