I go to meditation session offered there on every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month. Very down to earth people running the programs and very nice organisation managing the hall 🙂

SANDBAG - Sandgate and Bracken Ridge Action Group - is a local not-for-profit organisation that provides a range of support and services for the whole community.

The venue is a great space with facilities that are inclusive of all abilities. There is a nursey on site which provides reasonably priced plants and seedlings.

SANDBAG is not an emergency relief provider and does not hold emergency relief funds, but they do link people with local agencies that are able to assist with food and other types of relief in periods of crisis. They link with other organisations such as Community Café and St Paddy’s Food Van to provide services to help individuals.

They are an integral part of our local 4017 community and can provide help and information from employment services to legal advice and everything in between (including domestic violence support)..

You will find a range of community classes, activities for families and more run from it location on Rainbow Street.

Including a local favourite the music cafe night. Weekly family friendly yoga classes and so much more.

Staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. I know there's a lot of people in the community who'd be lost without their support and services they provide.

You can hire the venue for your own needs.

Very rude had to go pick up a food voucher from St Vinnie's that they drop their. Sandbags doesn't shut until 5 I went to went in there at 3 only to have the gates shut on me and told no and refused to give me my card anyway won't be dealing with them again 🤣.

Do Wednesday night men's yoga there. Nothing else. Don't know what other services they provide just glad they allow the facilitating of old man's yoga night. 🤣🤣👳🏿‍♂️🎅🧙‍♂️🧘

Not very impressed. Dropped off care packages for DV victims had the feeling they will be flat out getting them. They will not take warm socks & scarves or clothing. Thought they are supposed to help those in need 😔

Sandbag's Unplugged Cafe is a great night out in 4017! Cheap entry ticket and delicious food, all in support of local musicians and charity 😁

Please support this local organisation they do so much for the local community, and have done for the last 30 years! If you are wanting to be charitable, please start at home 100% goes into supporting our most vulnerable locals, so many charitable organisations are top heavy, and the funds rarely get to where they are meant to go, yes you may win a raffle so what! See what throwing a couple of bucks to your local community organisation wherever you live can do. You never know you could need them.
