Was so hungry after doing a whole tour of the sanctuary. Nothing else in the area was open as it was Easter Monday so we decided to eat here. I think the burger was good, it is just that the buns used feels like it was the cheap type, very soft and fluffy, therefore only 4 stars. Chai latte was good, like most cafes and service is pretty good.

Rude, indifferent service. Got a dose of eye-rolling and sarcasm when requesting a correction to an order stuff-up, friends got the same plus their order being slammed on to the counter when it happened to them. No wonder the locals are staying away. I would suggest the only reason this place is in business are the one-off tourist visitors who don’t know any different.

Local resident here. Really sad to write this review. The setting of the Sanctuary Cafe is very nice on a shaded deck under a canopy of trees. It is located before the entrance gate so we used to go there often, happy to support the mission of the sanctuary.

Since the pandemic, the quality of the food has deteriorated greatly, prepared-to-order items have been removed from the menu, and quality has become hit-n-miss. Mostly miss.

The dishes that are served look nothing like the displayed photos. The photo of a spectacular gourmet burger invites guests to a mouth-watering sensation. Instead, a recent hamburger was about 2-fingers high, with a scrap of old lettuce and one slice of tomato in a bun that gave new meaning to "flat bread". To add insult to injury, the chips were stone cold.

They used to have lovely salads, but last week my salad consisted of nothing but a handful of limp lettuce in a plastic to-go box.

Many prepared-to-order items are no longer offered. "Eggs Your Way" used to come nicely presented. For a while, the dish would arrive looking like my 14 year old son prepared it. We stopped ordering this item, but now you can't order it anymore even if you wanted to.

Just sad to see the bar progressively lowered. We've seen the kitchen staff turn over many times. We've given up going. Sad.

Great breakfast. Staff friendly. Interesting wildlife dining companions. Prices are competitive with other cafes in the area.

$18 for a sandwich and water, and the “chicken” sandwich was actually just a butter sandwich.

Coffee orders only. Coffee was a good, but a 15 minute wait at 10am when there's a total of 2 coffee orders? Good thing there was plenty of staff to chit chat thou. And "the coffee machine has been cleaned" at 15:50 is a sad excuse when you have a crowd of people ready to grab a coffee after a long day. Hopefully a little coffee van sets up close by, they'd make a killing here in the afternoons.
