A five day stay in Sydney, and this fine coffee establishment was definitely the highlight of our rather excellent visit. The coffee’s fantastic, the staff super friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere fun and relaxing. Oh, and do yourself a favour; the muffins are to die for! Totally recommend.

It’s a shame that the coffee here was excellent, but the service left much to be desired. As I walked in, the atmosphere felt strange—quiet, with a few people who all stared at me, making me feel uncomfortable. The server was unfriendly, arrogant, and unapproachable. While the coffee itself was good, the overall experience was so off-putting that I won’t be coming back.

Spacious warehouse vibes. Coffee was great, soy chai was a bit watery for my taste. Brekkie roll was $17 so on the higher end but had a nice kick to it.

Sample pro shop marrickvile. Its a big shop with a roastery. They own the loring s15 and German-built 1938 GW Barth “Ball” Roaster. La marzocco kb90, tone autobrewer, markibar izaga, mahlkonig e65s and ek43 are on their possession for delivering good coffee. Free Public cupping every first saturday on the month

The chocolate chip cookie was the best ever. It had sweetness and salt and nuts inside along with chunks of chocolate. The coffee was very smooth and silky but lacked a bit of the bitterness (which may be better for some people). Great quiet and cosy location as well.

Sample Coffee

I made it on time to the Sample Coffee Pro Shop. Whatever PRO stands for, the espresso bar of this beautiful artisanal roastery is absolutely stunning.

It is located in an old-new factory 🏭 building that has been beautifully renovated. You will also find a brewery, or design and furniture shops next to the roastery.

The interior design is simple and minimalistic: exposed concrete, tiles, wooden tables and chair 🪑. I especially like the high ceiling with the industrial lights hanging down.

Today I enjoyed two beautiful coffees from Africa: a Si for origin espresso from Rwanda 🇷🇼 and a filter coffee from Ethiopia 🇪🇹. There are many beautiful coffee, architecture and design magazines to read on the tables.

You should definitely also have a look 👀 into the roastery: you will spot two roasters… guess which one is my favorite. I was also very tempted to take the Yamaha motorcycle 🏍 for a ride… fortunately I behaved.

This place is another great example of how you can turn a simple coffee place into an experience and combine architecture, industrial design, interior design with coffee.

Aug 2020: rude customer service, zero acknowledgement, staff just look at you and keep doing their thing (3 staff), get you’re doing work, but no “won’t be a minute”, “hi”, nada. Bit too cool for itself I guess. Assume the coffee is still good 🤷🏼‍♂️
