Rydges Parramatta - Rosehill, New South Wales

What we liked :|Rosehill Gardens racetrack is across the road so v convenient if you are going to the races.|The room was clean and modern - recent refurb?|The king bed was very comfortable |The buffet breakfast was good - lots of choices. |We had an early check in at no extra cost. 11am checkout .|There is onsite easy parking but it is outside the motel and not undercover. It is an additional $20 per night. Boomgate operated.|Reasonably priced motel.|We didn’t use the TV or fridge.|What we didn’t like :|Occasional chairs very low to the ground- looking a bit worn|We had dinner in the onsite restaurant ( Steeds). Not a bad ambiance - service was friendly. We both had $40 steaks which were cooked as per order but the whole of the meal was seasoned WAY too much with salt ( and I like salt) and disappointingly the rump steak was chewy and sinewy. The waitress asked about our meals so we gave an honest appraisal and she offered two free drinks as a sweetener which we did not want. Time for them to find a new meat supplier. She told us she would let the kitchen know and they were v busy ( but the actual restaurant was only half full). |The table next to us weren’t happy w their meal either.|The motel is in Rosehill more so than Parramatta so if I stayed again I would use the taxis out the front and go into Parramatta to eat.|The motel is dated in parts . The carpet in the hallways is something else ! A shock to the senses - looks like a fight between pink brown and black paint ! Total clash with the grey walls. Hopefully that’s the next thing to be refurbed. |You can set your own air con but I noticed ( particularly in the morning) it is quite noisy maintaining the auto setting which would be a problem if you’re a light sleeper. ||Overall it was reasonable value for money - convenience wise for the races. |The restaurant needs improvement to capture those people coming back from a big day at the races.

I recently stayed at Rydges Parramatta and found the experience to be average. While the staff were polite and check-in was smooth, the overall cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. Surfaces didn’t appear to be thoroughly cleaned, and the bathroom could have used more attention. Additionally, the noise levels were quite high, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The location is convenient, but the hotel could definitely benefit from better maintenance and soundproofing.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. Highly recommend this hotel. Great buffet breakfast and overall service. Room was very spacious, clean, very quiet, well presented with great views from all angles.

Check in was excelent. Rydges is very lucky to have Karen in reception. Happy, smiling and forever helpful during our 6 day stay. We had no a/c on arrival, no problem, Karen had it fixed immediatly.

The staff are so friendly and helpful. Can't fault it. Especially Tyler from in room dinning. Was able to comprehensively explain the in room dinning experience, which the food was on par with some great restaurants I have dined in. The reception have been unbelievably on point.

Room was average for the price. Added a bed and got a fold out lounge. Staff weren't interested was too busy on his computer. yet nobody else to serve was arrogant too. The breakfast was disgusting everything was dry and felt like days old. Worst breakfast ever. Then tried to charge me even though it showed we had breakfast as part of my booking. Stay away absolute worst hotel if ever stayed at . Better off sleeping in your car .

I strongly advise against staying at this property. The rooms are in extremely poor condition, and the issues are numerous. All windows leak when it rains, leaving the carpets damp and creating an unpleasant odor. Despite notifying staff, no efforts were made to air out the rooms or address the problem. Mold is present in the bathroom sinks and showers, with no effective solutions provided when this was reported.

The in-room fridges are either non-functional or stop working shortly after use. Despite informing the staff, the only response was that maintenance had been notified, but no action was taken. The cleanliness is appalling—carpets are dirty and dusty, walls are unclean, and curtains appear to be unwashed.

The TVs in the rooms are outdated, unable to pick up free-to-air channels, and lack compatibility with streaming services like Netflix. The air-conditioning system is unreliable, functioning only part-time and shutting off entirely when you leave the room.

While most staff are courteous and appear to do their best with the limited resources available to them, the property itself falls far short of acceptable standards. It is outrageous that such a poorly maintained hotel is marketed as a 4.5-star property, and the rates charged are completely unjustifiable. This establishment does not deserve any positive rating, and management should be deeply ashamed of the current state of their facility.

We recently held a function at Rydges, and from our very first interaction with Stacey, our event planner, to saying goodbye to Thomas, our bartender, at the end of the evening, every moment was exceptional! The team was caring, accommodating, and truly made the night perfect. There isn’t a single thing I would change. I highly recommend Rydges for any event. <3
