Fabulous place to stay with friendly helpful staff and a comfy bed. We met the lovely Olga at reaction who kindly upgraded us to a 1. Bedroom suite. It was wonderfully spacious and clean. Close to plenty of food places and a small night owl supermarket on the corner. We swam in the pool which was refreshing after a long day driving. Thanks for a great stay!!

The 1bedroom was roomy enough with all facilities. Reception on arrival was neutral. balcony no out side seating, no view. Only staying overnight. Room service dinner and breakfast. Dinner adequate just, breakfast cold and disgusting don't bother. Rubber eggs so much ice in Orange juice should be none, almond coffee extra hot warm and tasted like a cheap brand of almond milk. Left it with a not so nice review. Do better or get a job you are capable of. Waste of time and money. I tied to cal restaurant no answer of course. Complained at reception she was attentive, got a 20percent discount should have not paid for anything. Not reception fault. We have now this Forum to say. Too old now. Keep away from Moss food.

Wonderful stay in a clean room conveniently located in the city. Short walk to everything you need. We loved that our room on level 2 had a huge balcony.

Pretty good. Front reception is lacklustre. It was a fairly 'flat line' experience. The woman didn't smile once. The room is spotlessly clean. Well done to the cleaning staff - and thank you for your efforts. I didn't like the odour of the room when I walked in though - musty and stale. It was the first thing I noticed because the odour was quite affronting. Perhaps some air freshner when it is known that a particular room will be used. The lighting in the room is inadequate (too dark) throughout including the bathroom for particular tasks such as applying makeup. The air conditioning was not cool enough despite my turning it down. The bathtub/shower combination is too high, outdated and dangerous. The view, horrendous. Perhaps some soft ambient music on entry. Perhaps a welcome and thank you note on the bed with something representative of Rydges and complimentary. It does not have to cost the earth, but you're supposed to be a 4-star motel. Without patronage, there is no Rydges. Adding little touches diverts attention away from those things that cannot be changed like the view, and those things that disappoint like the odour. They make patrons feel welcome and special, and like they are actually staying in a 4-star motel. They create a positive vibe and a uniqueness and perhaps drive the desire to return. I've stayed in a lot of motels around the world and Australia always needs to lift its game.

Well appointed apartments. Spacious and comfortable. We were there while my husband worked and there was a huge desk area that allowed him to work comfortably while we were still in the room. |The location isn't the best in Mackay and we booked a room with breakfast included but we probably would have been better off just eating at any of the cafes. |But overall a pleasant stay.

The hotel is in reasonable condition and is close to all amenities and restaurants. The rooms are clean and tidy and offer good space. Not really the best area for quietness as it's in the city areas and you can hear some noises at night. Overall a good stay.

However, the quality of beds is extremely extremely poor. The beds should be disposed off right away, the spring coils were poking in to my body & I had to turn & twist every 5 minutes to avoid the poking springs. Couldn't sleep all night long.

Pillows were matchingly terrible. Please Rydges management can you replace the bedding to atleast a level where one xan sleep, not asking for anything fancy or expensive, but just enough to be able to sleep on. I request you to try sleeping on any bed overnight for the delightful experience. Thankyou

We stayed at Rydges for 3 nights in June 2024 while visiting friends in the area. The property is right in the middle of town which is good but after dark it is surrounded by bars and strip clubs. You can hear the thudding of the music till late at night. The property is very dated and needs a refresh. The room was a good size but the furniture was oversized and didn't match. There were lots of scuffs and marks on the wall and the cleanliness was not great. There was a nice patio but nothing to sit on. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We had arrived late and ordered breakfast to the room for the following morning. The food and coffee were great and were the highlight of the stay. We will not be staying there again, it felt overpriced for the quality of property provided.
