The rooms are always clean and comfortable. We stay here a few times a year. Great location, close to public transport. We have breakfast and now dinner at the motel. Value for money. Only issue we had was that one of the meals was too salty for my husband.

Really enjoyed staying here. A little dated but the staff and service make up for it. Make sure you have the breakfast buffet and dinner in the restaurant (or room service) - the quality of the food is amazing.

This place was SO much better than the last place I stayed in the Ryde area. It's not as fancy looking as some, as it is older and dated. However, that's exactly what made it better. These days all the places are so small. This room had exactly that. Room. And it has been done up (at some stage).|I had a VERY comfy Queen size bed, I didn't feel the walls were closing in on me. I had a desk AND a sitting area. I had a reasonably sized bathroom, and even a balcony so I could get fresh air. The last place I stayed at was hermetically sealed so I relied on the A/C for something as simple as air flow, let alone temperature control.|It was quiet enough and dark enough (and I'm a very light sleeper), so I had quite a good night's sleep.|There were glasses (but no wine glasses), a kettle and tea and coffee. The toilet paper is that thin dodgy stuff you have to use lots of (but that's pretty standard). Soap, shampoo, shower gel are in dispensers on the walls. It has most of what you need really.|Breakfast was buffet style that I pre-paid for so it worked out to be only $13.50. VERY reasonable.|Check-in and check-out was easy, and the front desk staff were friendly.|I will be returning to the area over the next couple of years, and this is now my "go to."

This is my second review of this hotel after having been overseas for a number of months. I had an unplanned extended stay here and it felt like home throughout this time.
After booking into my room I had a sit down meal at the Palms Resturant attached the hotel. After an eleven months hiatus overseas it was a pleasent surprise to see the same dish I ordered nearly a year ago still on the menu. And in a rare contrast to the rising cost of living in Sydney, I discovered it was the same price! I cannot recommend enough the Thai beef salad they offer on their very broad ranging menu. Succulent generous strips of tender Australian beef, sprinkled with sesame seeds and drizzling with just the right amount of extra virgin olive oil . This all sits on a foundation of the most succulent salad imaginable comprising of rocket, cucumber, thinly sliced red onion, tomatoe, basil and slices of orange. Prepared with loving care by head chef, Steven. And all served to you by the very popular and delightful waitress , Lisa. Her ability to genuinely communicate with all guests is outstanding.

This hotel has a charm that is clearly preserved by all its staff...from house keeping to hotel manager.
Tim is an absolute gentleman and professional. Bikesh is equally so who also assisted greatly in helping me locate an extremely precious gold ring I had lost.

So again , I thank you all for adhering to those little, often unspoken things that make staying at such a hotel so very pleasent and special. It has a soul that's often missing in larger establishments.

My wife and I stay here once a month for a week or so. We have found Tim the manager to be very helpful and the rooms are very clean and we have been very happy with the location and the prices. The rooms are quite big and comfortable and clean, the beds are great and comfy too. The food in the restaurant is great also, the cook is excellent. The staff in the restaurant are very courteous and helpful also. The waitress in the restaurant is very helpful and friendly (forgot her name). Generally all the staff are very helpful and we can even do our washing here. Also there is tons of parking out the back. We have found the Ryde in to be the best place in Sydney to stay when you're on a budget. But also quite nice rooms and a great central area.
