What a wonderful weekend at Rustic Spirit! The cabin was so relaxing and peaceful, the fire so hearty, the b&b breakfast absolutely delicious, and it was so great to have a digi detox for the weekend in nature.

My partner and I travelled from Newcastle to stay at this gem of a place! We loved how it was easily to locate but yet we felt we were away from it all. The bush surroundings were lovely and the privacy of the different cabins was great. We felt we were the only ones there, even though it was fully booked. Our room and the facilities were excellent. I loved sitting in the egg chair on the deck just looking out into the bush. Our hosts, Marianne and Adrian were so lovely and accommodating. We throughly enjoyed the meals they prepared and cooked for us. We were so well looked after. We will definitely be back. Thank you again for a wonderful escape.

We absolutely loved our stay at Rustic Spirit. I cannot understand how every review is not five stars! |We have three young boys and stayed in 2 Doors, the 2 bedroom cottage. The cottage is lovely, with very comfortable beds, a combustion log fireplace and a beautiful deck for sitting and enjoying the incredible sunsets out over the trees (whilst enjoying the lovely platter provided with cheese, crackers and red wine). |The kids loved exploring the gardens, visiting the chickens, kicking a ball on the huge lawns, feeding carrots to the pony and bubble baths in the huge spa tub in the bathhouse. We enjoyed the bush walk down to the creak and loved spotting wallabies and so many beautiful birds.|However the best bit by far was the breakfasts created by Adrian. Two courses served in the sun on the deck. Delicious yoghurt, fresh berries and home made muesli or homemade porridge followed by a variety of delectable dishes. The tahini mushrooms were my favourite. |We also enjoyed all the local attractions, spending a day exploring the tourist towns of Leura and Katoomba and enjoying the many culinary delights in Bilpin.|It has been a tough time for the Blue Mountains and it is great to see people heading back and enjoying all the delights of this region. |The Rustic Spirit was the perfect base for us to explore this region. Thank you Marianne and Adrian for having us and for your wonderful hospitality.

Such a tranquil and beautiful reprieve from city life. We loved waking up to the sound of birds and enjoying the sunshine on our porch. The hosts were absolutely wonderful in terms of communication and flexibility, and their dog is equally friendly! Great location for nearby wedding venues. Thanks for a wonderful weekend.

Great weekend at Rustic Spirit. Pure relaxation, the breakfast was a highlight and so fresh. Lovely to wake up to the sound of wildlife. We brought our dog and enjoyed the wood burner and spa bath. We had a bit of trouble getting the oven started which was our own fault but it was very much appreciated when Marianne came out late in the evening to help us get it going. We will be back!

My husband and I loved visiting this magical place on our visit from Canada. The birds and cicadas are a constant symphonic delight, the surroundings are peaceful as well as beautiful to behold and the hosts, Marianne and Adrian are fantastic. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and appreciated the fine food, great conversation, sweet touches and total privacy afforded by this property and the cabin we were in on the edge of a gum-tree forest. The cabins have everything you need including a beautifully appointed spa bathroom, kitchen, sitting room, fans, fireplace, private verandah and fireplace! The common house where breakfast is provided is lovely too. Can't wait to come back.

We originally stayed in 2021 in Flint Cabin. We'll list the positives first. The hosts had good communication in the lead up to the stay and were welcoming upon arrival. The property itself is beautiful and tranquil and we loved that we could take our Labrador. Flint cottage was beautiful, peaceful and had amazing views from the balcony out over the bush. The bed was super comfy and we appreciated the welcoming touch of wine and cheese. The breakfasts were tasty and with a fairly good selection. Unfortunately the TV remote and spa didn't work on our first night and there was black mould caked onto the shower head. There was an incredible amount of dust on the blinds (which was disturbed and fell onto the bed when we opened the window). The hosts were incredibly apologetic about the difficulties we encountered and sorted a new remote and shower head after breakfast the next morning. They also assured us the spa problem would be rectified by flipping the spa switch in the circuit board. Unfortunately that night when we tried the spa again, it kept tripping the switch. Super disappointing to book a spa cabin and not be able to use the spa for our 20th anniversary. Again, the hosts were very receptive to feedback. They tried to offer money, and when we declined they offered us a complimentary stay. We tried to organise this for December, but unfortunately there was no availability. We tried again in April this year and after several emails (where initially our stay was declined despite 3 of 4 cabins being available) were eventually advised the day before our proposed arrival date that a stay was possible. Unfortunately the hosts would not accommodate us in Flint despite it being vacant (and remaining vacant for the duration of our two night stay). Instead we were in the Bushland Cottage. We enjoyed having two nights away in a beautiful location, but we were very disappointed in the accommodation. The seal around the freezer was incredibly mouldy. The ice cube tray had a film of scum on it. We got a plate out of the cupboard which had a small piece of food on it (and there's a sign in the kitchen which says an additional cleaning fee of $50 is incurred if dishes aren't washed and dried, which leads me to think that cutlery, crockery and other kitchen items are not routinely cleaned between guests). The light fixture in the bedroom was a cemetery for dead bugs (to the point that my husband originally thought it was a pattern in the glass). We had troubles lighting the fire on the first night because the ash drawer was completely full. There was no ash bin supplied, so we had to take the liner out of the kitchen bin and use that to empty out the ash from the fire. The hob worked but the oven didn't. Tea and Coffee were supplied, milk was not. There were many holes in the flyscreens so we had to keep spraying the mosquito's. When we went to use the spa the water was filthy. I understand that tank water can be slightly discoloured (especially given all the rain we have had) but this was beyond discoloured and left a greasy scum around the edge of the bath. We used the morning fresh from the kitchen, turned the jets on full and rinsed the spa with two full tubs of water before we could use it. The drain on the bathroom floor is higher than where the water splashes out of the spa so it creates a river right out of the bathroom into the kitchen and leaves the bathroom feeling consistently damp. There was a massive rusty hole in the side of the water tank. We were also disappointed that the complimentary wine and cheese that you get when you book direct was not provided. I understand our stay was complimentary, but that was because of our originally disappointing experience which we had booked for our 20 year anniversary. On the flip side the couch was comfy, the view lovely, the BBQ functional and we enjoyed that we didn't have to pay. I think disappointed would be an understatement of how you would feel if you sank almost $800 to book this cabin for a two night mid week stay. We would definitely recommend a road trip to Bilpin, but were super disappointed in the cleanliness and amenities offered by Rustic Spirit.
