This place is huge & I mean HUGE. Inside’s enormous but (importantly to us smokers) the courtyard is massive & the smoking area is NOT “locked in some vile corner” (it actually gets sunlight). Staff were fab to me. I came in for 2 drinks on way home & had a very pleasant time here (literally looking at all the wonderful old buildings you can see from the courtyard) whilst doing so. Sincere thanks for a lovely (& fast!) afternoon everyone who works here! Very pleased this place is in Randwick ?

Nothing like having a relaxing drink in a piece of Australia's history. The Royal Hotel Randwick is absolutely spectacular with beautiful decor in both the main bar and dining room. The staff in both the main bar and the dining room were fantastic. Very comfortable seating and just a brilliant spot to watch the world go by.

Lunch time special of fish and chips the worst ive had. Full of batter and underdone fish, just awful. The bits of fish that were edible were black. Chips were ok, side salad soggy. Previously tried this 6 months ago and thought it was quiet greasy, but more recently it was worse and just yuck batter.

Their bistro has some good lunch optiond and nice place for large group socials. I tried their beef nachos which was a decent portion size and taste.

Went in here twice whilst staying locally. Had some really good meals,from steak to fish and chips, desserts good as well, as was the wine! Lots of locals eat and drink here so can get noisy, and not the cheapest, especially for drinks, but would go back if in the area for the food.

Stayed 2 nights. Although bedding & linen clean, the floor was dirty - definitely needed a vacuum. TV was outdated, no channel guide, in awkward position high up on wall. . Air con non-controllable - both nights I switched it off & it came on by itself, very noisy and blows cold right onto the bed, I could not get a heat. First evening I arrived I tried to make myself a cuppa but kettle didn’t work, so I went to use in-house phone to call reception, it didn’t work either! They did change kettle on 2nd day. But the worst thing was, the bloody music down in their lounge! It goes on at full pelt until 1am, I could hear it above my tv! So Im leaving here tired & with a cough from cold aircon blowing on me all night!! NEVER would I stay here again!

Some reception staff fantastic, couldn't do enough. Others, you wouldn't feed them! In fact, you would get them as far away from customers as possible. Ordinary!
Problem with keys needing resetting all the time. Great location. Rooms very comfortable.
