Our favourite local campsite. Very serene sitting by the river watching nature then the pub for evening meal! Perfect overnight getaway close to Brisbane.

I would have been very content if the food was only average. After all, I paid almost $30 for lunch. But... My so-called hamburger 🍔 was nothing more than a rissole and coleslaw on a brioche bun. It also came with a small handful of chips and some army surplus gravy. For $22.50, I think it's fair to say, I expected better. I also bought a stubby of Bundaberg ginger beer. That cost me $7 to drink it out of the bottle.
My friend ordered bangers and mash. He only ate 2 sausages and left the rest. The waitress asked, "How was your meal?" He replied, "The sausages were good."
"And the mashed potato," she asked?
He didn't reply.
I couldn't help but wonder, "How can you get mashed potatoes wrong?" Maybe we should have ordered something simpler, like....mmm....let me think.....
After reading the other reviews, I realised it would have been pointless to have said anything. It appears that they never accept any kind of criticism and everything is the customer's fault.
I suppose I owe them an apology for not liking the overpriced slop they dished up.
To finish on a more positive note. It's a nice old pub. Good location and the food came quickly.

I was told about this place by an elderly lady who was off travelling to the Flinders ranges! I’m so glad she told us, what an awesome place! We stayed just the one night in our caravan at the back of the pub, a top spot. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the food was amazing! A big shout out to the owners thank you! It was lovely to meet some of the regulars also, it made it an enjoyable stay! We look forward to returning hopefully in the not too distant future! A must visit 10 out 10 😊

The chicken parmigiana at the Royal Hotel is the best I've ever had. It's cooked to perfection and so are the chips. The service is quick, even when it's busy. This is a great place to eat in a lovely country town.

Had a lovely lunch today pizza steak and parmy the lovely lady I'm presuming owner was wonderful chose my wine and staff were friendly and accommodating tables cleared promptly which is a thing with me being a chef over all fab day
