Another great country pub with free camping out back. The current leaseholders were very friendly and went out of their way to get to know us at the end of the night when the bar and bistro slowed down. Loved the steak sandwich and spaghetti bol. A real please meeting great people running a family pub.

We stayed at the royal hotel on our way through to the coast, hadn’t a clue where we were and were in awe of the hotel and it’s history. The bed was slightly uncomfy but the electric blankets made it all the better. The balcony was spacious with a beautiful view, bathrooms clean but most of all the hotel was gorgeous, like stepping back in time up there.

The location took us by surprise after we found the Capertee Valley just 20 mins down the road.

The locals were friendly and the staff member that showed us our room gave us a lovely tour and made us feel very at home.

Thank you so much for having us! We will be back (this time when the bistro is open ha ha!)

We have had a wonderful time at this pub
The staff and owner were all so warm and welcoming a real kind bunch of people who know how to make a pub work.
The food in very reasonably priced and delicious.
What a little treasure of a place to find.

Absolutely hands down the best country pub feed I have ever had without a doubt!! From the service to the food and drinks everything was brilliant, we will be stopping every time we pass through !

Camped in the grounds for a friend’s birthday weekend.
Ate and drank in the pub.
Food was amazing. Best steak I’ve had! Cooked to perfection!

Great country pub, and value for money. Food was excellent and restaurant quality. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Owners were very hospitable and we loved the open fires.

The hospitality, food and overall vibe of this place is beautiful. We had a situation with a breakdown not far out of town and managed to get a room at short notice. The owners were nothing short of welcoming, we turned an ordinary night into a great night all on the back of everything already stated. Will be back again every time we pass through!
