It is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL racetrack but on Race Day they ran out of ice & alcohol & there were NO fans In any of the seated areas.

Also, there were NO grounds maintenance staff. So the bins & toilets were not cleaned, restocked nor emptied ALL day. At the end of the day the whole of the Racecourse grounds looked & felt disgustingly filthy.

It left a nasty taste in your mouth really. I'm glad I only paid general admission prices.

What a great way to spend a Friday.
So firstly I go upstairs for a feed, a sausage roll and chips. The lady asks me if I want peas with my roll, I give her a confused look and she smiles....."your not from around here are you?".
It was bloody delicious and she was lovely.
The racing was something to behold, a magnificent straight longer than Flemington and the turf was in pristine condition . Every horse had its chance and it was great to see the old hand Justin Stanley ride 4 winners, even though he pipped my man (Wiggo) twice in close finishes.
I recommend the "Rocky racecourse" to any person who is after a cheap ($5 entry + a race book ) enjoyable, hassle free afternoon, plenty of kids too.

Very nice for a local track. A bit grimy and dated. If there were modern betting facilities, I didn't see them. Going to the window is quaint....

My mother's wake (Shirley Ferrier) was held today at the Rockhampton Jockey Club. We couldn't be happier with the service from RJC and a Days Graze caterers. We would highly recommend this venue for all types of functions.
We can't thank them enough.

Only went there for the markets on Sunday. I heard the racecourse committee had a breakfast going upstairs which was very popular, will have to check that out next time.
Had a wonderful time at the races, we were also celebrating 🍾 a birthday. Had couple of wins and wine 🍷 the best day.

Very busy with Christmas parties. Bar staff were a little green. But nice venue. Heaps of people but nice and cool. Food was pretty good (and good value). Bathrooms were impressive with facial samples, hair spray, and straightener in the ladies. Great venue for our Christmas Party
