We loved our 3 days in Cooktown and felt very fortunate to have stayed at Riva la Vista. The position was spectacular and the sunsets the most amazing we’ve ever seen. The unit was excellent with a very comfortable king size bed. The host Terri made us feel very welcome and provided breakfast supplies. It is ideal for couples.

Lovely place to stay. Up on the hill with terrific views so you need a car unless you like walking. Very comfortable clean accommodation and very friendly owners. Looking over Cooktown and the bay particularly at sunset was just lovely!|Thank you,|Jacqui & Eugene

After staying here, we wouldn't choose anywhere else when staying in Cooktown.

For a B&B it’s 10 out of 10, the whole atmosphere is welcoming, the space is beautiful and useable. I loved the open kitchen with views to impress. The king room was above expectations. Parking accessible for motorbikes and vehicles. The hosts are wonderful.

Stayed 2 nights at this establishment (king bed with ensuite). The room was very clean and we only managed to get away with one mosquito bite, noting that there was insect spray in the room if we needed it, but we didn’t spray the room, it was very hot and humid the days we were there.||||There was a cold jug of water waiting for us when we arrived with 2 bite size pieces of chocolate in the fridge and the air-con had been turned on to keep the room cool, which we were very thankful for. There are limited cooking facilities, but we did not try them during this trip. Bed was comfortable.||||The hosts (terri) were helpful in terms of places to eat. At the location, there are Cooktown tourist maps available. Terri’s handiwork on the towels and other linen is pretty good as well.||||We were not aware, but there was bread in the freezer with condiments and there was a large fridge. Also UHT milk, if you wanted to make tea and coffee. There was also a bar fridge in the room, which we used to keep our drinks cool during our stay there.||||Cooktown water has a slight chlorine taste and we can’t blame the hosts for that! The hosts live above you and are generally inaudible, but I did hear them one of the mornings I was there (they got up early on that particular day), but it was okay for us as we also had to wake up early and I had to listen a little bit harder to actually hear them (muffled faint footsteps only, no talking).||||When I come back to Cooktown, I would stay here again. It is good value for money. Would agree with the other post that it isn’t that easy to find, but neither is it that hard either. The property is located at the end of an unsealed road and has superb views out to the north of cairns. It is located on the hill below the grassy hill lookout (3 minutes drive).

We spent 2 wonderful days at Riva-La-Vista the property was beautifully presented, and immaculately clean with modern and very comfortable accommodation. The property offered excellent self-catering facilities and the outlook from the lovely outdoor dining area was spectacular with extensive views and mesmerizing sunsets. Fantastic very helpful hosts who go that extra mile to ensure your stay is the best. Highly recommended.

We were so happy we chose to stay here! Terri was such an awesome host and her home is so beautiful. Our room, bathroom and kitchen area were all spotless, so well equipped and the view was unreal! I would happily stay here every time I come to Cooktown in future. Thank you so much Terri!
