This place has a rich history and is an integral part of Brisbane culture. The theatre is amazing and to see all the effort that goes into set carpentry, writing, casting, wardrobe and preparation, really adds to how special theatre really is. The team that run this place do a great matinee. The bar food is great and the staff do a wonderful job when it's busy.

Last night, 13th February 2025, my friend Merrianne and I attended Pride and Prejudice at the Empire Theatre, Toowoomba. The show was absolutely awesome. The acting was very professional and we could see that the actors were also enjoying themselves. The stage props were wonderful. I must admit that i wondeered how you would mAnage this. We laughed and clapped throughout the show. I have read Pride and Prejudice at least a dozen times and have watched the series and the movie about 100 times and still enjoy them. I'm sure Jane Austin would be absolutely thrilled to see this version of her story in 2025.Thank you for this magnificent production. ❤️ 😍

A brilliant theatre venue in the heart of South Brisbane. Great rotating roster of programming, very supportive of both local and further afield scenes. The current production of '37' (Apr 2024) is a must-see.

The venue itself is fully accessible, with a great little courtyard space for snacks and drinks. Staff are friendly and supportive, and set the tone for a wonderful theatre event. Get your tickets now!

My first time visiting Billie Brown Theatre and was very impressed with ambience for pre show drinks and the intimate theatre. We saw 37 which was very powerful, funny and full of energy.

Great location! Factor in extra time if you are driving in for a 6.30pm show, but great to get there by bicycle. No racks, but the fences are sturdy and my bike was fine. Best thing here is free sparkling water on tap! So make sure you bring your water bottle!

What a beautiful theatre. Our first time and it was a great experience. So intimate. Don't Ask What The Bird Look Like was a funny, thought-provoking, emotional play. We will be going back pronto.

The Bille Brown theatre, is an intimate theatre space used by the Qld Thestre. We have a season ticket which provides access to eight plays per year. The use of the corner stage is vastly different in every production. The theatre is walking distance from the South Bank railway station . There is a bar with basic cafe fare. Also a lift if you find stairs problematic. Limited parking is available, book ahead.
