My partner I stayed at the quarter decks. I originally booked a deluxe viewer bedroom villa. I was given several pictures of the property and then completed the booking. This was for our 20 year anniversary three nights as soon as we got there the lady at reception asked if we were locals, my partner had said yes and she like Said something to the effect
Locals of trouble they’re always trouble so don’t buy local ,
She spoke to us a very rude manner. She looked at our appearance. We just finished work. We were taking the weekend to ourselves to be together in the quiet. We did not enjoy this because it was not what we booked but the lady at the reception was disgusting. I’d like to take that further as a complaint internally thank you . then we walked into the unit filthy dirt straight away the garage filthy dirty. Everything was dirty had to clean the cups etc. Before you even used the sink stunk. The microwave didn’t work. The whole unit stunk. The backyard had no grass just thorns and prickles and spiders could not walk around there due to the big tree that’s overhang with spiders hanging off so that was not usable. The lounge is outdated. There’s no Smart TV so nothing in the bedroom to make you want to sleep in there. The blinds are unstable that they don’t roll properly. People can see in. I believe that deserve my money back and my husband are disgusted. And I also I had to wash everything. I even left the power gel there from to use since they don’t use it. I used to be a white Club supervisor at Kingfisher and also at the side Stephens and I am disgusted that they charge the price that they did.

Update to this review we were KIcked out, keep in mind im a support worker looking after a ndis client for this tripthat need air conditioning. After the first night, the next morning, after writing this review, we were told she was cancelling our booking, and when i said we needed to look to see if we could find anything else, we were told get out. I also informed her she was not interested in helping till she seen review which as soon as i came to door she said she seen and that is why she was there. I also said so your kicking us out because you dont like review so you dont want feedback or way to improve like she stated. We stayed for 1 of 3 nights booked off bookings. Com it was almost $400 a night for 2 bedroom apartment. On arrival I noticed dust around most of the edges and ac up stairs was not working extremely hot. One room didn't have ac only fan up stairs was super hot (fan very loud on high). I went to front desk where management told me they couldn't fit and she would have to see husband to see if they could get fixed. I said if it doesn't have ac I would not have booked here especially for the price. I was told most places booked out and I would not get a refund and I'd have to go through bookings to see about that. I was also told for the great low price I have got the fans should be enough as alot of people don't even turn them on. Hours later they came to door and said nothing they could do and we can stay or not. We moved the single mattresses down stair as the sweat box up stairs was not sleepable. We found the management rude and dismissive as if our complaint was not important. Even tho comfort while we are away is on top of list. Like others I felt they were not interested in hearing feedback to improve like they stated. We stayed at number 47 both rooms upstairs for the price needs ac and I even cleaned the ac filters as you could not see through them in hope this might help it work. Other important thing is no smart TV's. So you can't watch any steaming you can only cast to TV. So if your phone does not do that normal TV is all you have. I will not be staying here again and would recommend to everyone stay somewhere else if staying here and comfortis important check your apartmenthas ac in each room you are using and im not sure if other units have smart tvs im guessing not from other reviews. We deserved money back or discount if they could not supply great service or quality accommodation for the High prices for what you get. So in the end we just have to make the most of our work holiday as not much you can do once you are here. Location was great. If we don't receive full refund I will be taking this further legally as we were ejected from our stay because they were not happy with review.

Our town house (#57) was nice and roomy, with comfy beds but unfortunately, it was not very clean.

The toilet was dirty, skirting boards & bedroom furniture were dusty and the showers in both bathrooms had rusty frames with doors that wouldn't close.

The kitchen was poorly stocked. Very limited utensils, cheap Kmart flatware & glassware and scratched, ceramic crockery.

There is a really nice, new pool and bbq area with a 'no glass or ceramic' rule, which is perfectly understandable.

As there were no plastic plates, bowls or glasses provided, we were unable to use the bbq area.

Communication with the mangers was good during booking. Unfortunately in person they were less personable.

When we carried meat to the bbq in the only container in the kitchen (a ceramic oven dish) - just to cook it and take it back to the house to eat - the manager came out there and told us off for the ceramic dish.

Another manger made a point of coming out when we were in the pool and told us off for bouncing a child's plastic ball against the wall.

I accept the wall has a mural on it, but really? It's in a pool area, surely it should be robust enough for a child's plastic ball.

Having used 4 other accomodations in The Bay in the last two years, I have to rate our Quarterdecks experience as underwhelming and disappointing.

Thanks Quaterdecks for an amazing pet friendly stay. You hope a trip with your four legged friend will go well. Our own sparkling clean apartment with private yard two minutes walk to park and off-leash beach added up to our best stay in ages 🙂👍

Rather dated units in need of a facelift, located within walking distance of the boat Harbour and the Urangan pier. Very friendly management. Price was a little bit high for what the unit had to offer.

LOCATION|Around a 20-minute walk down to the harbour, from where you can catch the shuttle bus that takes you on the Fraser Island day trips.|The units are in a gated complex.|ROOM|We had a villa that had an open plan lounge / kitchen, a separate bedroom and bathroom, and an outside patio. It also came with a secure garage.|The villa was nicely decorated and furnished, and was very clean. The bed was large and comfortable.|The room had a kettle, fridge, washing machine and drier, and iron and ironing board. Everything you need!|FACILITIES|The reception is located outside the entrance gate. We didn’t have time to use any of the other facilities.|STAFF|We met the NZ couple who have recently become the new management for the resort. They were lovely and very helpful. Our thanks!

Having read the reviews which are very mixed I think like many holiday accommodations the villas are owned by independent owners and these owners maintain then to each individual owners standard which makes it difficult and very much pot luck as to what you get. |We made a late decision to book on our way back home. The lady receptionist was lovely, She did mention they were new . We checked in and were given our villa key which also opens the large electric gates.|We had Villa 25 and were delighted with the standard of presentation. The furniture was well above the standard of most holiday apartments/villas. The bed was super comfy. We had a 2 bedroom Villa, the lounge dining area was huge as was the TV, it had a full size kitchen, full size fridge, cooker and cook top, Plenty of hot water as well. There was crockery and cutlery so very self contained. |Lounge has a A/C but what we really liked was the fact the bedroom had a fan and you could open the sliding door at night as it had again a quality screen door. |The pool area has a well set up BBQ area and plenty of seating.|The only small negatives , the outside court yard area of our villa had a lot of weeds which needed to be sprayed, the other quite annoying thing is that there are signs that say , if you have a large vehicle that does not fit your garage you have to park outside on the street. This is ignored by some of the visitors or residents. We went out to dinner and came back to find a huge 4X4 parked opposite our garage door which meant we had to go door knocking to find the owner and ask them to move it which they did but in the morning when we went to leave it had been parked next to our villa again making it difficult for us to get our car out. |As I have stated I think the managers are new , hopefully they can fix the issues others encountered because it really is a lovely place to stay.

We had a 3 bedroom villa which was spacious with large rooms. All bedrooms were upstairs with an open planned living kitchen and dining downstairs.

Beds were comfy, and bathrooms were all neat and clean. The ensuite with master bedroom is large and spacious. The master bedroom also had a large walk-in robe.

The kitchen was equipped with all basic appliances. For convenience, laundry was equipped with a washing machine, clothes rack, and a dryer.

Outdoor seating was also provided.

The ground floor also provides a large garage.

Location wise, it's not at walking distance from esplanade or any restaurants or shopping centres. You need to have your own transport.

We had our own transport, so the location didn't matter to us.

Highly recommend a stay at Quarterdecks Retreat.
