Deluxe queen room was modern and fitted with your standard model room quality of fittings. Room was situated on the ground floor and set way back under the awning, combined with poor lighting in the room it had the feeling of being in a basement. Mobile phone reception also suffers because of this, thankfully the free Wi-Fi was decent.
The bed felt like it had a plastic mattress protector on and the pillows were on par with most motels.
All in all, it wasn't a bad experience, there are just better options in town that are priced similarly.

I travel to Tamworth weekly on business and have stayed at various hotels in the area, this Hotel has proven to be by far the best, the rooms are well equipped and exceptionally clean, Annie on reception is an asset to the hotel very helpful, polite, and efficient.

The Restaurant is a newly opened venture and I’m sure it will meet your expectations in due course.

Thank you

I was booked into stay on the 26th. Got home from work on the 25th to find our elderly dog was not good. Rang the hotel as soon as we found out his condition from our vet. We couldn't put him into the kennel in the condition he was in. Being less than 24 hours (21 1/2) notice they told me no refund.... If I knew that I wouldn't of rang and just not shown up. Now they will rent out the room and double dip.

Travelling for work and booked a room based the website stating there is a restaurant on site so I didn't have to go anywhere after travelling the day, checked in and asked for the restaurant hours to be told the restaurant is not open as they don't have a chef. disappointment #1, up early next day and went to make a cuppa, everything supplied except the hot water kettle. disappointment #2

Stayed in the cottage for one night family of four.
Spacious lounge area and full equipped kitchen. Ducted aircon which was a bliss as it was 38 degrees outside, main bedroom and lounge and kitchen has ceiling fans which was also a bonus. Second bedroom doesn't have fan though.
Place is well presented and bathroom is OK.

Reasonably convenient for the town centre

I wanted to cancel a 4 night fully refundable booking via Booking.com a month in advance and the property categorically told me it wasn't refundable. They then called me back to offer me a refund of 3 of the 4 nights accommodation, which I declined, letting them know I would take the matter up with Booking.com. I finally got a full refund over a month from requesting it from the property, but they made it exceptionally difficult to do so. 11/10 for Booking.com. 0/10 for this property.

I rarely have much bad to say, can usually find a positive in a negative but this was truly the worst experience at a hotel I’ve ever had. The office staff was horrible. I had prepaid the $165 for the night and were going to check in late so the office texted me at 8:50pm they would leave our key and code in a lock box. We arrived at 9:25pm, key was there as promised. Opened the door to our room and no power, anywhere. Apparently there is some kind of box in the room that you insert the keychain into but we had no way of knowing that. We stayed at 4 different nice hotels the week prior to coming there and none had this. I called the number posted at the office door and nothing. Called the regular listed number and nothing. Found the book in the room using the light on my phone that lists rules and such and it had another number listed that states “For Urgent After Hours Situations Only”. I got voicemail 6 times which said it would send the message as a text. There is absolutely no way we could have known about this key thing. We have a 10 year child and couldn’t sit around anymore in a dark, unsecured and hot room (this was NOT a safe situation) so I called a lovely place down the road and they got us a room (with a normal key and no “power box”). They were a bit flabbergasted at what happened and said that should not have happened. Went back to this hotel in the morning to ask for a refund and the office lady was disgustingly rude. She said that she was at home asleep when I was calling. So in 35 minutes you left the hotel, got home, did whatever, changed, and were fast asleep? Highly unlikely. I asked her why bother with an emergency number then and she…word for word…said “not my problem”. She literally said that I must be stupid because EVERY hotel in Australia has this box activation. Well if EVERY hotel did then how were we able to stay at all these other hotels and have electricity? We asked for a refund or at least partial refund of our $165 as technically they weren’t out any money at all but she refused, said it was against her policy to provide refunds of any kind. No one even stayed in the room, the only thing that was touched was the book, and they weren’t losing any money as no one could check in at that hour. Things got a bit heated and my husband had to walk out before he lost his cool. She said “oh he too aggressive” and I told her not in any way, shape or form but that we are upset because she’s being unreasonable and won’t listen or do the right thing. My family ran a business for 42 years and you always listen to the customer, make things right if there’s been a mistake, and make sure they are happy. Never, ever call a customer stupid or make outrageous, false claims. She and I went back and forth a bit (incidentally, the heater was blasting in the office when it was 29° out and the music blaring so loud that you had to yell) when I concluded this was going nowhere and left.
We travel A LOT, have stayed at around 50 hotels in the past year, and have never experienced anything like this ever. The location was nice, a beautiful building (although the car park is teeny tiny) and from what I could see in the pitch black of the room it looked like it would be sufficient.
If you choose to stay here I’d cross your fingers that you have no problems and need help from the staff.
P.S. She deleted my booking with the booking site I used as well, told them I was a no-show so I couldn’t leave them a bad review on the site. Just awful.
