I stay here often & the staff are amazing. It's a great spot, minutes walk to town. ||The rates are always great. The rooms are clean & very comfortable. I really feel at home here. I would recommend the Colonial to anyone visiting Tassie.||And the 2 puppies are a bonus! ||Thank you Colonial 😊😊😊

Excellent location and quirky architecture. Staff was helpful and friendly but the hotel is in dire need of an update. One of the reasons we chose it was for its character but our room was musky, not the cleanest, TV and heater had cables everywhere and beds/pillows weren't comfortable. It could be so much better considering its location and appeal.

Upon arrival the amazing welcoming party were awesome (2 labradors) making you instantly feel at home. I stayed here for 4 nights with my granddaughter whilst hubby was at LGH. Very centrally located making it easy to just whip down the road to the cbd or the hospital. Lovely manicured gardens to sit and enjoy a recharge after a busy day. Lovely restaurant with gr8 staff. Shout out to the lovely Cassandra. Rooms are very comfy and well maintained. Now the owner,wow, went above and beyond driving my granddaughter and I to hospital as taxi was taking too long and making a follow up call to check on hubby. Where else does that even happen?Cant wait to go back and experience the brand new wing opening soon. Do yourself a favour and experience true Tassie hospitality in a locally owned hotel

Lovely old hotel with wonderful history. Friendly service on arrival. Great location within easy walking distance to the restaurants and bakeries. The friendly Golden Labrador’s that greeted us on arrival were so sweet and an added bonus!

I was surprised to find that I was expected to pay full price for the buffet breakfast, despite it being served in a space filled with piles of mattresses.

There was no prior warning about this arrangement, and staff treated the situation as if it were completely normal, offering no apology or explanation at the time.

After taking a few photos, I immediately received a call from a manager asking about my stay. During the conversation, I was told that the issue was due to renovations and that the mattress storage was the fault of an external company..

Regardless of who is responsible, I don’t believe it’s unreasonable to expect to dine in an appropriate setting—not in what effectively felt like a storage room.

Cutest dogs that I have ever met. They greeet every guest here.... Beautiful antique building and near to supermarkets. The room is neat and tidy with well functioned electronic appliances. Great stay here and hope more people can visit this antique accommodation !

Very well located and having parking is a must in Launceston if you hire a car. Very ample room with comfortable beds and a decent shower. The original building is kept beautifully, a pride to it's owner. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

The Quality Hotel Colonial was by far one of the nicest places I’ve stayed. The staff are all friendly and super helpful with any needs. The gardens are just gorgeous as well as the owner’s adorable labradors that are around with him. Definitely look forward to coming back here again.
