This was our second stay on the island and it gets more beautiful every visit. Our kids are 9 and 7 and were at the perfect age to really make the most of the water activities and island walking trails. We stayed for 4 nights/5 days and honestly, we were busy (by choice) every day. The island vibe is very relaxed and very private but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. You will need to take all your own food or pre order it from the Waterline Restaurant in Yeppoon. The self-contained cottages are well equipped for cooking and have a spacious kitchen. It is eco-style accommodation, so the island is powered by solar, and cottages are fed by rainwater which makes the stay even more special. Take fishing rods if you like to fish (ask the managers for the best spots) and if you like fresh oysters then you are in for a treat! We find Pumpkin Island great value.

Absolutely stunning piece of paradise - keep coming back!!! Was fortunate to visit this property with colleagues for the day for a site inspection while the Managers do their annual maintenance and upgrades. The group were wowed by Pumpkin Island and all it has to offer - beautifully appointed cottages, secluded beaches & coral reef, sunset lounge, vistas and white Sandy beaches. No wonder you need to book well in advance but so worth it!!!

One perfect island for sunrises, sunsets, and a very chill time!

We had all islands for our group and what a magical place to explore the beautiful hidden spots, kayak all day, snorkel, or simply enjoy a hammock.

Great for families. We stay for a week so better if you have a boat as we did for fishing and if need to go to Yeppoon to restock the fridge or any missing items.

The island and its surroundings are stunning!!

This is my second trip to pumpkin island with my family and it was just as special as the first. A gorgeous spot where you really feel like you own the island. The pizza oven is awesome for meals. You take all your food and drinks with you, but Eloise makes a delicious cocktail in the sunset bar which won’t disappoint.|All cabins have spectacular views, they are all different but all great. |There are some special little snorkelling spots around the island, very untouched coral, well worth the adventure, but half tide is best. |We will be back!

Perfect little undiscovered gem, very quiet with only a small amount of rooms and no day guests. Pristine and clean island that you can't help but relax and recharge your batteries.

The staff are great and make themselves available for any questions especially if it is your first time staying. We've been twice and will be going back again. It is an ECO resort with limited power that you have to be mindful about (not leaving fans or lights on during the day and limiting shower time).

One of the places on the CQ coast that hosts visitors from Brisbane, The Sunny Coast and interstate who always return to the island for the unspoilt location

I have had the joy of staying with my family at Pumpkin Island twice, and seen the amenities improve over time while still maintaining a rock-solid ecological ethos. Pumpkin offers a perfect sheltered beach with crystal clear water that's warm enough to float in all day and cool enough to refresh through the heat of the day. There are beautiful coral reefs to explore with the snorkel gear provided, including giant clams, and unbothered tropical fish. You'll probably see a stingray or two as well. The hosts are friendly and helpful, and all is offered with a focus on minimising the footprint on the environment. A truly unspoiled paradise on Earth.

It’s hard to put into words just how special pumpkin island is. You arrive to this pristine, secluded beach - white, soft sand and crystal clear water. The cottages are so comfortable and clean, with everything you need and only meters from the water. We loved all the activities, especially snorkelling the magnificent reef, the coral was so vibrant, colourful fish, turtles, sting rays… so many beautiful creatures. The kids ( and adults) had so much fun swimming back and forth to the pontoon, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding. At night we cooked pizzas in the custom pizza oven, had marshmallows next to the beach in the fire-pit and cocktails at sunset. My son cried when we got home, wanting to go back to pumpkin. We can’t wait to go back again and again and again.

We booked the whole island in mid-May 2022, as a family and friends group of 11 adults and 12 kids, occupying the 5 cottages. The weather was great and we had a wonderful 3 days exploring the island with the kids, drinking cocktails in the sunset lounge, cooking pizzas in the pizza oven and watching the stars while sitting around the fire pit in the evenings. The SUPs and kayaks were such great fun, and the swimming area, with pontoon, was lovely and safe. You can swim straight off the beach and see coral. The cottages were very comfortable and perfect for families, and the wooden boardwalks were fabulous in that it made it easy for my elderly aunt and uncle to traverse between cottages and to the lounge. The kids explored the whole island, and mermaid cove was a favourite spot. We can’t wait to return and enjoy it all again.
