A little pricier but great.
All the meals came out together which I always appreciate. Staff were excellent. Polite, well spoken and knowledgeable.
I had a schnitzel with salad and chips. The salad was comprised of decent produce (no tasteless mushy tomato/ token cucumber slice like so many I've had)
The basic salad was fresh, chunky and tasty with a good balanced dressing.
Great scnitty. Chips thin and crispy.
I recommend.

Restaurant review only. THE WORST!! Arrived at the start of lunch and sat down on a table that was so sticky, it obviously hadn’t been cleaned from the night before. Quick move and then the search for the pizza menu we saw online. Went there specifically for their wood fire pizzas to find out the online menu is not up to date and there’s no chef for the pizza. Decided to stay and try regular menu. Aunty decided on ribs and myself and partner the burgers. 30 minutes later 4 serves of garlic bread arrive, we ordered one. While they acknowledged the mistake, no refund provided, just take away contained for a lifetime supply of bread we didn’t want. They then advised there was no ribs, so burgers all round. Surely all the bad luck was now out the way? The grand hotel said no, all burgers arrived quite skillfully burnt and cold at the same time. Chips cold, salad not cold, just not there. My partners beef burger looked like they had collected all the pieces of burnt meat on the grill, made it into a circle and presto, I guess that’s a burger. Chicken burger was so dry and stringy, I could have made violin strings from the meat!
Also lemon squash, weirdly had no lemon flavor. Won’t be back, the worst food I’ve had in ages.

Had dinner and drinks Sat night
Jasmine was our very attentive waitress, great service. Lead maître de was very warm and welcoming.
However the menu unavailability’s were not explained before we perused the menu which led to constant responses of “ sorry that’s not available “ several items were not available on an already minimalistic menu.
One meal delivered without several ingredients which was rectified but shouldn’t have happened.
Meals were very average.

We did the Grand QTrain experience. The whole event was the most fabulous experience. From the arrival at the hotel, to the train trip, food , drinks and especially the staff. To the room upgrade, dinner and breakfast. The staff were so very welcoming and warm. Portarlington is a delightful area. We were there on a Monday and Tuesday, so it was quiet. A perfect way to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary. Thank you

Had a lovely lunch there with 3 other family members.
The food was delicious
My sister really loved the Provencale mussels.
The calamari was great and l enjoyed the chicken Parmigiana.
The Atrium is a lovely place to eat the meal. Beautiful old hotel. Must place to go to for a meal and a drink.

The Grand has undertaken an incredible transformation recently and the ambiance, food, service and hotel spaces are equally impeccable. I enjoyed a beautiful steak with sides which were all well prepared. We dined with our family and had small children who were also well catered for. Highly recommend and will return!

Stunning old hotel opposite the beach. Rooms have been renovated and are 5 star. Gorgeous comfy bed and pillows. Lovely bathroom with good shower. Staff are wonderful and friendly. Food is really delicious. They run a shuttle to local wineries which is great, don't have to worry about driving.

Where to start..
Greeted at a door by staff who rudely informed us that we should use the other door. Then the pizza that we got told was good and on the website was only 9 months removed, so no pizza. My partners aunty ordered some garlic bread and asked for 2 slices of normal and 2 with cheese, so out comes the 4 "plates of garlic bread" all be it tastless as all get up and with no offer of refund for their wrong..
Then the mains came out and it just got worse. My "burger" if you could have even called it that was horrific. It was 3 crappy bits of yesterday's burnt leftovers passed off as beef, the burger as cremated as it was was cold dry and tasteless. The chips were cold. And my partners lemon squash was just like tap water... DO NOT GO THERE, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO GRAB PIES OR SOMETHING ELSE!!!!!
