I was lucky enough to spend a week with girlfriends at this special retreat. It was fantastic to arrive to a well stocked house with comfortable beds and a room with a view! So nice to enjoy a coffee on the verandah and a wine by the pool. The outlook of the property to the hills is so beautiful and we enjoyed walking to the river and back in the morning with girls. If you need a relaxing break, this is the place to go!

I was fortunate to stay at the Port Douglas Lakeside retreat for a week and it exceeded my expectations. The property is large, private and stunning - the main house and 2nd house have everything you need. If you wanted to cook, everything you need is available. If you don’t want to cook, there are some lovely restaurants in Port Douglas (10 min drive max).

The interior of the house has lovely furniture and artwork. Everyone said their beds were comfortable, plus every room has air conditioning. The wrap around veranda is a lovely place to read a book or relax and take in the view.

The gardens are beautiful, the pool was used all day, every day. Just walking around the property seeing the tropical flowers, huge trees and blue or green butterflies was special.

The Lakeside retreat is also known by many day trip organiser’s, who can pick you up from the property. I highly recommend this place if you want to holiday in style. I will have fond memories of this holiday and will always recommend the Port Douglas Lakeside retreat to anyone travelling to Port Douglas.

My partner and I recently got married at Lakeside Retreat and our two families stayed on the property for 5 days over the duration of the wedding. It was beyond what we both hoped for and everyone who attended the commented on what a beautiful property it was. The rooms were all comfortable and both houses had all of the amenities we needed. The pool was great and the decks were wonderful for breakfasts and afternoon drinks.

Please take me back!
Port Douglas Lakeside Resort was one of the best holidays I have had. Walking around the stunning gardens and sitting on the verandas with the beautiful views from first thing in the morning to the end of the day, views I could watch over and over. Morning swims after a walk, afternoon cocktails by and in the pool that were made in the most amazing kitchen (as well as dinners). I didn’t want to leave. Close to town for our brunches and supplies but truly didn’t need to leave the property. It was like having our own private island.
The house was spotless and had everything we could possibly need.

Simply magical. The property is gorgeous with beautiful lawns, palm trees and a huge pool. The Queenslander homes are spacious with beautiful views from every window. And I have kitchen envy, especially in the main house. Great place to holiday with a group of friends or with extended family. It sleeps 14 so the per person cost is very reasonable. Highly recommend!

How lucky I was to come across this beauty in FNQ! Situated not too far from town but far enough there is no traffic or noise. The grounds are stunning and paradise at its finest. The house is clean and spacious and the pool is perfect. Its staying in a 5 star resort but its all yours. Cannot wait to go back and relax. I loved everything about this property making my holiday perfect.

I had the pleasure of staying here for a mum’s only trip and wow-wee it was the most relaxing and beautiful time away.
So close to town for anything you need (brunch!) but even more lovelier walking up the road & around the property in the mornings and later with lazy afternoons poolside with friends.

This Lakeside retreat is absolutely stunning from the gorgeous gardens to the stunning views , I got to unwind and truely relax . My room was lovely and clean with comfortable bedding . Days spent by the pool relaxing and enjoying the sunsets on the verandah was my favourite. I highly recommend this retreat you won’t be disappointed.
