My recent three nights stay at the Pier One Sydney has been pleasant; but I would not call it a luxury hotel. There are pros and cos of this place. Pros--Good location. Walking distance to the Rock, Circular Quay, harbour bridge and other attractions. Modern décor with some old characters. The room is clean and spacious. My L1 room can walk directly to the pier. Buffet breakfast had good food selection. Very friendly service. Everyone was cheerful and helpful. Especially concierge and front desk. My special thanks to Nicole C. at front desk. Her personal touch made my stay memorable. Cons—Nothing much outside the hotel. Have to walk to get things. Because it’s a warehouse converted hotel, sound proof was no good. I could hear next door’s showering and other activities. I could hear people from outside too. My room has a conjoint door. Light leaky out from the conjoint door because the door has a gap. The shower room leaks. Overall, it has been an acceptable stay but not sure whether I will return soon.

We stayed at this hotel twice during our 21 day odyssey of Australia and New Zealand, each time for 3 days. Both times, it was terrific. The location is perfect - right in the middle of things. We had an awesome water view. The hotel is right by the bridge, with Circular Quay and the Opera House, just a short walk away. The hotel staff were amazing: polite, professional and endlessly helpful. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. When we returned to Sydney the second time and came back to Pier One, it almost felt like coming home. And, I can't forget to mention the fantastic breakfast 🙂

As we wait in lobby for suite that staff knew we were waiting for at 10 this morning but did not expedite after previous guest left, it adds to the overall feel of inefficiency. Dinner at 5:20 last evening took nearly 2 hours, even though only one other table was seated when we arrived. Several times servers stopped by to offer food and drinks that were ordered by other tables.
This morning we were seated for breakfast, offered no menus or options and left to figure out on our own.

The luggage handlers are amazing, always stepping forward to assist guests.
Although the lobby is very nice, I would only rebook if there were no other options.

We have a family tradition of staying at this hotel for Vivid each year, but unfortunately, this may be the last.

First, the good. The location is great for Vivid, nestled under the Harbour Bridge and a short walk to the action. The rooms are spacey, with comfy beds and big TVs. The service is also friendly and responsive.

The issue is the hotel is getting on and each time we have stayed, there have been maintenance issues. This time it was the air-con not working in the first room. While maintenance staff were not available, they gave us a new room, which was lovely, but there was an issue with the device streaming in the 2nd room.

It’s the annoying little things that have us mark this great spot down from 5. A good experience, but not perfect, given the price during Vivid.

One of the best hotels in Sydney. We were greeted by Dianne at the reception when we checked in and she was very lovely. The rooms and views are absolutely fantastic. We booked the room with the view of harbour bridge, Luna park, and the opera house. We were also welcomed with some sparkling wine. Couldn't ask for more. We visited here in 2017, this year, and would definitely come back again.
(Not a huge deal but I found the position of the toilet paper holder a bit funny as it was very low?would be great if they could fix that!)

I had the pleasure of dining at Pier One Sydney Harbour recently, and I must say, the kitchen staff deserves high praise. The quality of the dishes was outstanding, from presentation to flavor. Each dish was prepared with obvious care and attention to detail. My family was even attended by chef Lykel, chef Sunam and chef Pia. It's clear that the kitchen team works seamlessly together, maintaining high standards under pressure.||Thank you for delivering such a memorable dining experience! My Family and I felt really special.
