We've had breakfast here a few times before, and we thought it was very nice. It seems that the quality of the food has gone mediocre, maybe new owners. Ordered the chilli scrambled eggs, and the portions seem small and didn't taste amazing. There were raw bean sprouts on the plate, and I'm not sure if this goes with the rest of the food, and I'm a bit confused.

Has eggs benedict and carrot cake. Great food. Really enjoyable. Great portions. The extremely impractical cutlery and table design choice makes it a bit difficult to be as appreciative, though. The table design means anyone over 5'8 has to sit one side to avoid the table legs. The knife has a 1.5inch blade and an 8 inch thin metal handle that digs in to your palm as you cut. The cake fork is so tiny I can only assume it is an over sized novelty toothpick. I had to use the teaspoon that came with the coffee to eat the cake.
Finally, It seemed like the only option for a second coffee is to go back to the counter. I can't imagine how many second drinks they miss out on with no QR code or servers with a mobile eftpos for taking second coffee orders. If they do table coffee orders I didn't see it at all

This fantastic little corner Cafe in a rather busy section off the side of the Brookside Shopping centres food court exceeded my expectations.

The staff are well mannered, fun, and energetic. The coffee is some of the better in this part of town, a rare gem in Brisbane (this has been getting better in recent years), credits to the barista!

The food also exceeded my expectations. I ordered one dish, and then a BLT bagel expecting not to be full. But the serving size of the initial dish was a meal on its own! Well seasoned, presented with care and delightfully flavoursome.

The speed at which they are able to bring your order out in the middle of a busy service is a testament to the skill and experience of the staff and chef/s.

Well done Peacock and Peony, we will be back again.

TL;DR Don't give this place a miss, exceeds expectations.

Coffee and hot chocolate is on point and delicious. My daughter loved hr baby chino and was finished nice with hundred and thousands on rim. Bad points are it is so squashed in and set up terrible but that is due to horrendous food court in brookside. Shop is so under staffed and line to be served was long and slow ( positive is barista is on fire and makes fast and waitresses device quick) I feel they do the best with what they have .

Ordered scrambled eggs, very small portion of eggs, dry toast and some kind of sauce on the side with wilted spinach (apparently) asked for pepper and salt but none available to enhance the tasteless eggs. Coffee tasted burnt.

Coffee is always great here, especially if you like a robust flavour. The pancakes I had for breakfast were delicious and were a generous size. My daughter had the kids poached eggs meal and loved it, especially the hash brown. For a shopping centre cafe, it is a great place to come for coffee and milkshakes.

Located in Brookside shopping centre in a great location. Never been to either. Other than being a tea connoisseur, I am an egg expert, poached in particular. Sadly, here I was served very hard boiled poached eggs that had been left on the counter too long so they weren’t even hot anymore. Toast wasn’t buttered and when I asked for butter it seemed to be an unusual request. Usually I send hard eggs back but my hunger got the better of me. A new chef needed. If you can’t do poached eggs……Cafe needs a good manager. Hash brown was a nice surprise!

Wow! Excellent gluten free meal at a great price! Nearly everything on the menu can be done GF too.

I had the crumbed flathead with chips & salad.
